There is an 8160 point contract at The District on eBay right now. The seller is paying most of the fees, so it looks like a good deal for someone. Opening bid is $1 and there are no bidders yet.

I am not sure why anyone would want to own at The District. It is high MF/pt and typically easy to book unless they go there often and want lounge access...but other than that, I don't see any reason to own there.

The MFs are relatively good for bHC points compared to those in NYC, at least for the platinum weeks. Of course, the value of that depends on the fungibility of bHC points.

bHC MF/pt tend to be much higher than HGVC MF/pt. I can book The District with HGVC points within 89 days via the HGV portal or further out via RCI so unless it is for lounge access or the HH 1:32 conversion, then I would be reluctant to own there.

Also the ability to purchase AI for unlimited free reservations.

Cheers.

Yup. And many of us have not sprung for the direct purchase price or purchased on Scotland in order to receive status.

Cheers.

I own and EOY Platinum 1BR at the District and although I have a family reason to stay there, as @brp has shared it is an economical way to get AI. Even makes more sense to own the EOY there just because of that. I also enjoy the owners lounge there too. Have not and likely will never use my Home Week there. The cost per point for my District deed this year are just under $.14/point. Combined with my other deeds, my average cost per point is around $.116/point.

The one issue I ran into buying there were some fairly high Closing Costs on the first deed I looked at. I ended up finding one through SMTN and the Closing Costs were lower and the process was quick and smooth. They even gave me a rebate for the paperwork being returned within a set number of days.

YMMV
