@dioxide45 How long did it take the points to show up? Not that I'm bothered by 500 Bonvoy points, just curious. I checked out on Monday.

We checked in on September 14th. The first time I noticed them was when I posted about it here on the 23rd. They show with a posting date of the 14th but I am sure they just backdated that. So they would have shown up sometime between the 14th and 23rd.

Does anybody remember a Disney Vacation Club contest a few years ago with the prize being thousands of points AND the MF's covered for something like 15 years? Now THAT was a contest! The people who won went online searching for info about Disney timeshares and ended up posting a thread to the disboards, including pics from their stay in the castle the night they won.

If Marriott wants to be taken seriously it needs to give out prizes like that.

0/7. I just scratched off seven cards. That is literally how many the guy gave me today when we checked in. Seven. Not a single winner. It does have a URL for the official rules though; https://cloud.email1.marriottvacations.com/CheersOfficialRules

The back of the card does say one game per villa per family. I guess the guy broke the rules by handing me seven. He wasn't going to give me one till I asked him about it.

Edit: I've checked that link to the official rules, it is correct per the back of the card, but it doesn't work.

Well, I guess it’s the contrast to the online contest they had when Abound launched, which was pretty lucrative… I won several times, including enough Club Points for a couple of nights I used in DC.

Do we not get beach bags anymore? Our last stay was a Westin Princeville and no beach bag. I have a small collection of them, so no big deal, but the grocery bag was okay.

I think it depends on the property. We've received two 40th Anniversary Bags so far on this trip. That is out of at least eight visits to the "concierge" desk.

In the Starwood days, the bags were much nicer and were a standard feature of each stay. Since MVC took over, they have become laughably cheap when they even have them, and if you ask and they give you one, they act like they’re breaking the rules and you shouldn’t tell anyone, lol.

I still use the old Starwood bags I received, the Marriott bags are hardly worth keeping track of.

Our marketing gal at the old folks home came from the timeshare world. First thing she did was tell them they needed bags! She has since gone back to South Carolina (IIRC) to sell timeshares again now that we are at 94% capacity.

The scratcher card does say the odds of winning are 1:110.24

We lost at WKV when we checked in. They offered the bag but I turned it down as they gave me one when we were at WKV in August.

Just checked in at Grand Chateau and received one scratch off. It was not a winner. No other gifts offered except 500 Bonvoy Points for stopping at the concierge kiosk where they gave us the scratch off.

I received two of the scratchers today (staying on two back-to-back reservations, so they gave me two cards) and didn’t win on either of them.

The card says the odds of winning anything are less than one in a hundred.

I'll get another shot at it next month in Maui.

Yeah, odds are 1:110.24. After many scratchers, I am still not a winner. I've even had to ask for scratchers because they don't seem to want to give them out freely.

Colorado recently (January 1st of 2024) decided that all plastic bags at the checkout counter are evil things that must be eradicated from the state, so we collect the tote bags now, any they will give to us. We need them for groceries. They are helpful in HI too.

I have to wash some of ours frequently to keep meat juices out of the fabric.

Concierge said they had one streak of winners - 3 or 4 winners that seemed to be near in-a-row, including cash gift cards (hundreds, don't recall exact amount).
