Happy Aloha Friday from Northern, CA! We had a huge thunder storm last night with lightning, heavy rain and hail! I know this is common spring weather for some other areas, but it is a bit of a novelty here! Fortunately, nothing was damaged and my garden got a good soaking. We are expecting more rain and snow over the next week - always a good thing for CA and the Sierras.

Speaking of gardens - I picked my first strawberries this week! They were delicious over vanilla ice cream!

We were in the Redwood Forest last month. Its really something. One thing we noticed was a lack of forest smells. Our forests have so many scents that you can almost tell the time of year by sniffing. I thought the redwoods would smell like a redwood deck but they didnt.

Even though the nights are near 30 degrees, the frogs in the pond behind us are making a racket. There's some that sound like crickets, and some sound like ducks. We love the noise because it means spring is getting closer.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! Busy day today but now we can have a quiet weekend at home. Weather over the weekend looks good too. 🤙🏻

This week's picture keeps us here on Molokai and at WaveCrest. This picture is taken from the end of the Beach looking back towards the resort. Our golfing partner headed back home this week so it's just me and Kim golfing again as the resort moves into quiet times over the summer.

Happy Aloha Friday!

People in Minnesota complain about the weather, but as Scott Alarik's song says "once or twice it's so damn nice". Yesterday was one of those days. Sunny, 75 degrees, low humidity, and too early for mosquitoes. This is a picture of the Chinese Pavilion on Lake Phalen in St. Paul. It was built in St. Paul's sister city in the Hunan province in China. It was starting to look like it was succumbing to Minnesota weather, but last year they renovated it and it's looking quite handsome now.

Happy Aloha Friday from Salem Oregon. Patti is part of a group of Volunteers that helps take care of the Gardens in Bush Park. It is the largest Park in Salem. Yesterday was setup for a two Day Plant Sale. Last night we were Security from 1930 to 2200. On Wednesday I went with Patti to her Hair Dresser. My Ponytail (about halfway down my Back) is now Violet.
 
Happy Aloha Friday from Upstate South Carolina.Last few days in upper 80s. By Sunday back to low 70s with a chance of much needed rain. Good time at Myrtle Beach last weekend. Everyone have a great upcoming week.
 
Happy Aloha Friday - we’re expecting a “cold front” this weekend - from a high of 85 today all the way down to a high as low as 71 on Tuesday! But with high humidity it won’t feel so cool. Woohoo!
 
FIrst decent fishing day for us at Lake Chelan. Launched the boat and slowly fishing my way back to the resort dock to pick up the girls . Its a beautiful sunny day , clasic rock on the bluetooth and actually catching a few fish.

Happy Aloha Friday from Northern CA. Spring has sprung!

We got a late start on our garden this year due to travel & house painting, but things are really starting to take off now: We have lettuce sprouting, and our over-wintered sweet pepper plants are doing great and already setting buds, so we will have peppers early. I think we have had the pepper plant in the picture for four year. The Irises are blooming too:

We installed a new raised bed that replaces the wood frame one we built in 2020 (peppers, radishes & cucumbers, and celery that is on it's 3rd year.) The netting and ribbon keep the feral cats & ducks out. We are picking strawberries everyday, now, and the tomatoes are taller every time I look. The tomatoes are setting buds too, but I pinch them off until the plant is about 2 feet tall, to promote a strong, healthy plant, first.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! It's the last Aloha Friday in April so May will be here soon. We will have a trip to Maui in a few weeks now.🤙🏻

Happy Aloha Friday from Salem Oregon. The rain appears to have stopped. Temperatures are climbing to the high 60's and low 70's. This past week Patti and I jointly were honored by the Oregon Humane Society for the numerous events at which we have volunteered.

We got our hot rod Lincoln back this morning. @DrQ you were right in your coment about they wanted to total the car. Eventually, they sent an adjuster over. When this adjuster was in the 7th grade , he and my son built a small working hovercraft with my help for their science project. Anyways, he remembered me in a good way and sent me to a highly rated body shop. The shop had problems finding the parts which included a hood, bumper, bumper support, grill , chrome, headlights and emblems.

Happy Aloha Friday from Kennewick, Washington. Making a quick trip out from SC to see son and family (4 grandkids) and attend a memorial service for my 96 year old aunt who passed away last November. Heading back to SC next Tuesday. Have a great weekend wherever you are and enjoy family.

Happy Aloha Friday!!!! It's May Day or Lei Day here in Hawaii. It's a perfect day to show your Hawaii Spirit. 🤙🏻

Happy Aloha Friday from Salem Oregon. Yesterday it hit 81°F. It is suppose to be only 70°F today but 86°F on Sunday. Then 2 weeks in the 70's. No rain for the next 2 weeks. We are just 4 weeks from our month long Road Trip - Reno, Park City, Moab, St. George, Reno, Home.

We have caught a spring time something. I thought it was allergies but decided it was something else. It lasted 10 days and peaked after 4 days. Lots of coughing and congestion. I think its about run its course.
