Happy Aloha Friday

Happy Aloha Friday from Northern, CA! We had a huge thunder storm last night with lightning, heavy rain and hail! I know this is common spring weather for some other areas, but it is a bit of a novelty here! Fortunately, nothing was damaged and my garden got a good soaking. We are expecting more rain and snow over the next week - always a good thing for CA and the Sierras.

Speaking of gardens - I picked my first strawberries this week! They were delicious over vanilla ice cream!

Happy Aloha Friday !!!

We were in the Redwood Forest last month. Its really something. One thing we noticed was a lack of forest smells. Our forests have so many scents that you can almost tell the time of year by sniffing. I thought the redwoods would smell like a redwood deck but they didnt.

Happy Aloha Friday !!!

Even though the nights are near 30 degrees, the frogs in the pond behind us are making a racket. There's some that sound like crickets, and some sound like ducks. We love the noise because it means spring is getting closer.
