Happy Aloha Friday

Forgive me for asking this question. Is this Liberty Station in San Diego, CA . Where there is a Marriott’s Residence Inn; near the United States Marine Corp Depot? Are Homewood Suites or Hilton Harbor Island accommodations better in your opinion than the Marriott Residence Inn?

Does these hotels provide shuttle service from the airport to their hotels? So it sounds liked you stop in San Diego, Ca and then fly to Hawaii. What airlines do you used to fly to Hawaii?

I would liked to travel to Hawaii in 2026.

Thanks for any information, you can share or provide.
Liberty Station is very close to the San Diego airport. I haven't stayed at a Marriott Residence Inn, but I believe it is similar to Homewood with a small kitchen. Homewood does have a shuttle to the airport, as do the Hilton and Sheraton on Harbor Island. Our timeshare is in Kauai, and Alaska has the only non-stop from San Diego to Kauai.

Thanks , for sharing this information. We are looking at flying Alaskans Airlines to Oahu, Hawaii in 2026. Years ago we would visit San Diego and stayed in the Marriott’s Courtyard and I believe the Homewood Suite Hotel were located beside the Marriott’s Courtyard.

Artringwald, thanks for your map. Correction we stayed at the Marriott’s Courtyard and not the Marriott’s Residence Inn.

Hopefully, we will be staying at the military resort on the Island and not at a timeshare resort. We need a minimum of two weeks vacation time.

Love your map. Years ago we would walk to Liberty Station for breakfast or lunch. I feel now, we are going to use Uber. LOL.

We haven't been to Liberty Station before and we're looking forward to staying there. The Hilton on Harbor Island was nice enough when we'd get there in the afternoon and leave in the morning the next day, but this time we're staying for 2 days so we'll have some time to explore. What I'd really like to do is to stay at the Hotel del Coronado for a couple of days, but that's not in the budget. 😁

We have toured Hotel del Coronado years ago; very high-end hotel and right on the beach.
From the Marriott's Courtyard we would tour the City of San Diego using the Hop on/ Hop Off Bus Tour.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! Wow, I can't believe that Christmas is less than two weeks away. It will be here before you know it.

This week's picture keeps us here on Molokai and out to the Molokai Wharf. The largest Wharf in the State of Hawaii. Here is a lone boat moored out close to the Wharf on a beautiful day.

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!🤙🏻🌴🌺😎

Happy Aloha Friday!

I could complain about how cold it is here, but I won't. Instead I'll post some artwork from my granddaughter.

I'm guessing the pool faces Molokai.🤙🏻
From KBR, you can see both Lanai to the southwest and Molokai to the northwest. This a a picture from the last time we were there. The picture from the pool is facing more to the northwest.

Makes sense. I can see Maui, Lanai and on a clear day Kaho'olawe from my lanai here at WaveCrest. 🤙🏻

How cold is it slip? I bet it is warmer than 38 degrees right now.

It's 12:40am and 70 degrees right now. Today it was cold and rainy though and only got up to 79 degrees. 🥶

Happy Aloha Friday from Salem Oregon. Pineapple Express has kept has warmer than normal. 50's and 60's. What feels cool or warm to a person changes by where we live long term. For me if it is in the mid 60's it is Shorts and T-Shirt weather. Patti's Sister and BIL live in Melbourne Beach, Florida. For them they are putting on Sweaters in the 70's and Puffy Jackets in the 60's.

That is definitely fridge worthy.

Happy Aloha Friday! After 3 wonderful weeks on Kauai, we are headed back home today. 😥

Happy Aloha Friday.

The weather has suddenly changed in the PNW. When I was younger we called the winds that blew through melting all of the snow a Chinook Wind. Now all of the reporters call it a Pineapple Express. It was high 60's yesterday. We were alerted of flooding on the American River so we went to see if our cabin was ok and it was. The river made it up to the edge of the deck and did cut a small channel through the sand. Tree falls are the newest problem. The new power lines were taken out with one major line knocked over by a huge tree and in the flooded river catching debris. Some of the area cabin properties experienced massive erosion with one cabin down the road losing all of their river frontage.

Happy Aloha Friday! It's currently 67 degrees (at 8:07am!) with a high of 79 today. As expected, we had plenty of overcast days with some rain.

Hope you have a great week!

Here's a pic from yesterday. Lots of gray and an interesting look of the water. Seems very calm close in, then an abrupt change.
