I'll finally get to see "Hamilton" without paying the outrageous ticket prices. :D

Can't wait!!

is it just 7/3?
and the outrageous ticket prices for live is worth it IMHO--most fantastic performance I've ever seen.
I'm not completely sure but I think since it's streaming it starts on July 3.

For some perhaps odd reason I haven't wanted to see Hamilton. Everyone I know who has seen it has raved. So I'm happy to have the chance to see it on the small screen. Maybe then I'll see what I missed.

I'm excited to see it but you should treat yourself to the live performance too. It's worth the ticket price (although it will probably be awhile before the live shows happen again I suppose).

Luanne, the story-line of Hamilton's life, which is quite interesting, coupled with the variety of songs, and the brainpower that went into thinking up a "rap musical" Hamilton is just astounding IMHO. It's long, like 3 hours, and I was riveted in my seat the entire time.

I like to see at least one show when we visit NYC each year. This year we cancelled our trip, but hope to get back next year. I usually have to drag dh, he's not real big on musical theater. If our younger dd goes with us she's always up for shows.

I have a dark-web copy of Hamilton with someone using high-end video and audio equipment (as good as it could be when pirating it like Kramer) that is fun to watch. It has LMM playing Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theater.

We saw it twice when it was here in SF (w/o LMM) plus I was able to sell my $60 SFSHN season balcony tix for $860 (each!). Ahhh... those were the days!

Looking forward to seeing a high-end production on Disney+ even w/o the two F*cks. (Great what LMM said about the edits for the PG-13 rating).

Suggestion to people that haven’t seen/heard the musical. Listen to soundtrack with lyrics turned on. The quick paced lyrics can be hard to catch. Plus, the soundtrack is excellent!

I have been going to musicals (and theater) for years. Hamilton is one if the best, and it is not all hip-hop contrary to what you may think.
There are plenty of ballads - it is a love story after all. The Schuyler sisters are incredible.

PBS also has a great show Hamilton’s America (?) that is worth watching - it shows LMM creating the musical.

Found out I can't watch Hamilton on our television. There are only certain types of smart sets that can be used, and we don't have one of them. So I'll be watching on my computer. Oh well.

you can get a HDMI cable and connect your computer to your TV. You can order the cable from bestbuy/amazon, etc. We have a not very smart TV also!

I think for just this one show I'll make do with my computer. My dd has the Disney+ account and she checked to see if we could use it on the television. I'll see what she thinks about ordering the cable. Thanks for the info.

I'm in your boat. Thought perhaps I was the only one. I'm not aware of a single song that has emerged to catch my interest. You know, like a "Memories" calibre song.

Hated Cats.

However, there are shows I have loved, and I can't remember a single song. The one that comes to mind is "Come From Away".

I don't know if it'll come across on TV, but the live performance is like nothing I'd ever seen. I don't recall any of the songs--it's more of the whole production put together that makes it so good, IMHO. We got tickets from the Kennedy Center lottery dial-in and paid "normal" face value. If I'd paid $500+, maybe I wouldn't have thought it was so great!

'Hamilton' at home: Disney+ gives fans a front-row seat worth waiting for.

I was one of the people who did pay $500+ (after waiting in the cancellation line) to get orchestra seats in August of 2016 in New York City. Had never spent that much for theater tickets but my daughter screamed at me over the phone, mom, you have to do it! Much of the original cast had left but it was still incredible. Saw it again later in San Diego and then again in NYC. To say I’m a little excited about seeing this performance is an understatement.
It’s a mix of musical styles and not just rap. “Burn” is the torch song every musical seems to have. “Wait for It” is a beautiful ballad in any context. “Helpless” is a like a teen I’ve got a crush on you song.
My plans for the Fourth of July weekend:
Stay home. Have DH throw something on the grill. Watch Hamilton 20 million times.

I saw it in Chicago last year, and it was great. Definitely looking forward to seeing it again.

You can buy a firestick and plug that into your TV if it has and HDMI port, and if your TV does not support Disney+ app directly.

This is how I watch Disney+ on my only slightly smart TV.
