Let’s talk about Grand Vacations Club, Inc.
Grand Vacations Club’s website states “We use a multitude of methods and technology to get the property the exposure it needs to find the renter who needs it.” However, the website doesn’t even come up on a Google search with their name and city (I went through multiple pages). What does come up is their F rating with the BBB. All we have here is a poorly designed website that no one can find. Seriously though, what company will create a name so similar to a multi-billion company that their website never even comes up in a google search? In my opinion, that would be a company who really has no need to be found because there are no actual business activities happening other than cold calls for dollars. Another clue that they don't really want to be found is the fact that their terms and conditions is incomplete. They have lots of headings, such as "How do I cancel?" but there is absolutely nothing beyond the headings. The whole website is nothing but eye candy to try and convince timeshare owners that they are a legit marketing company.
Their website also states ““We offer an extensive database to help corporations find your vacation property.” Never in the history of timesharing has there ever been a legit marketing company that cold calls and claims to market timeshares to corporations. The simple fact is that corporations require ease of booking, multiple reservations for groups and the ability to cancel or modify their reservations. Timeshare reservations are unpredictable, are difficult to book even for one reservation let alone multiple and are typically non-cancelable. I have 30+ years of experience working for a large corporation. I had many seminars and trips that I either organized or participated in. Our company limited on where we could book accommodations to a specific company that had a special arrangement with the company. The claim to market to corporations is one of two of the biggest lies in the already shady timeshare marketing industry (the other lie is claiming to rent excess Getaway weeks). Any upfront fee company that claims they market to corporations is a scam.
While they want their victims to think the company has a great booking engine for potential renters the site is actually a joke. It is not a booking engine. It appears that they loaded a bunch of generic timeshare descriptions into the website. Every single resort listed has a rental price of $1400. This includes the lowest of timeshares to prime Hawaii locations such as Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas in Maui - see post #33. It shows that there has been zero thought about the resorts and that they simply put together the website as quickly as possible. There is also no way to search by resort name or geographical location. If someone scrolling through the random list of resorts happens to find a resort they might like, they have to enter their personal info just to inquire about the resort. In this day and age, no one "shopping" for a resort will take the time to do this, let alone the risk they take entering personal information into a new website that operates in one of the most scam ridden industries in the US.
Based on the above, it appears that this is just one of hundreds of other scam marketing companies out there whose only real business model is dialing for upfront fees. There is zero incentive to find renters once they have the upfront fee. I've said it before and will say it again, I believe that most of these scam marketing companies have no real marketing business model as it is all a sham to assist them in collecting/stealing upfront fees. I also believe that they generate fake and impossible to reserve offers to make the timeshare owners think there is real action happening.
