We're here now for three nights, got in yesterday after driving over from the wedding in Temecula that was our main reason for this trip. So far the most exciting thing has been driving past the Ivanpah power station and realizing that it's the site of those three bright lights I saw from the plane when we flew into LAX the other day. (It really doesn't take much to excite me, I guess.)
Last night we wandered over to the Bellagio so I can cross 'seeing the fountain show at Bellagio' off my Bucket List. I'd never heard of the floral installation in the lobby there, though, and absolutely LOVED it! It has a sewing machine - how cool is that?!?! This afternoon we're going to the Sphere for the one-hour Postcard From Earth Experience and tomorrow night we're seeing the Cirque de Soleil Love (Beatles) show. Other than that, we'll be shuffling through the bedlam with all the other seemingly millions of people who are here with us, playing a few slot machines along the way, and probably desperately trying to find some peace and quiet now and again.
I have no idea what makes a good view or unit placement at Grand Chateau. We're in a dedicated 1BR on the 26th floor looking down on the entrance and directly across to the Polo Towers. I think we could be here ten weeks and still not figure out how to get around all of the construction (race and whatever is happening at the two sites in our view) plus the upstairs/downstairs for the elevated street crossings, but we're happy enough.
