Has anyone been lately? Wondering about the construction for the race and what to ask for as far as room preferences. Any suggestions or input? Going next week.. Thanks!

Here now. Construction for the race doesn’t seem to impact getting to or from the property.

Personally I prefer a higher floor. Was there last week. During the day was attending a conference at the Venetian and took the car. GPS took me on to Las Vegas Blvd passing the Bellagio. It was a standing parking lot. I quickly learned to cut thru Paris to wind up on Audrie St to make my way to the other side of Harmon.

As bad as the traffic was ... I will take that traffic all day long. Compare to NYC Manhattan traffic. Las Vegas has got nothing to complain about.

I was there last November and I was originally placed in a lower floor opposite The Strip. The noise was horrendous though, not least the portable vacuum cleaner outside the entrance at 4 am! I complained and was moved to a high floor on the side facing the airport which was far more peaceful.

I do however have a very low tolerance of noise of any sort so rooms facing the strip may not bother some people.

Thanks everyone! We won’t be driving so I was more curious about the race construction noise. Are the only views to request the strip? Not sure we really care so probably just choose a high floor.

I haven't noticed any noise from race construction, but I am also facing the airport. The results of the construction are noticeable on E Harmon, but it is really just the setup of temporary steel pilings along the street. These will likely support the walls of the track and perhaps be poles for cameras and other equipment.

A few things I have noticed with our stay here so far. We are in a dedicated 1BR unit and the washer and dryer are not very intuitive. They seem to be some kind of euopean model and the controls are very basic. After running the dryer it reminds you to not only clean the lint trap but also the water tank. I guess it is some kind of thing to use less energy and squeeze water out vs drying it all out. Anyway, trying to find the right settings to perform just basic functions seems to be a challenge. Then there was the TP (toilet paper) situation. The roll onlyray on the wall was okay. We had to replace it with what was under the sink. That stuff was single ply SINGLE PLY. What kind of garbage is that? I called down because we needed some facial tissue and I asked for more TP and explained the single ply. They thought they only had one kind. The new TP they delivered was the two ply. Scott=one ply, Cottonelle=two ply.

If you eat late like we do, watch out for this with many of the restaurants in the Miracle Mile shops across the street. Their profiles on Google Business may say they are open till 11pm or midnight, but in most cases they close their kitchen early and only the bar is open late. One place, the kitchen was closed two hours before their posted closing time. We went to three places yesterday and settled on Sbarro Pizza because they don't have a bar.

They couldn’t spare a square.

Harmon was closed last night on our way back from the Neon Museum, we had to detour around MGM Grand. Not a big issue and I came in from Las Vegas Blvd between the Target and CVS back through Pollo Towers to get to Grand Chateau. If driving in, it seems like they are closing roads off at night to do construction.

We ran into that one night, we were just wanting some nachos to share after a show and many places were open, but with a limited bar menu that surprising enough, didn't have nachos. We ended up at the cafe in PH as they had nachos until midnight.

It is good to hear from others that it is not too bad now. It was very bad last month. Harmon one way in both directions, left turn almost impossible. One night we were on Harmon for about an hour getting home. Construction noise all night.

The first race is November 16-18.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix’s race course will have drivers mainly racing at night on Las Vegas Boulevard between Spring Mountain Road and Harmon Avenue, with a portion of the course including Koval Road to the east of the Strip. F1 released a course map indicating the race will begin in a lot off Harmon with drivers heading west to Koval.

I imagine that getting to anything on Harmon will be a nightmare.

Based on the course map, E Harmon is the last longish stretch before the start finish line. There are nightly road closures on E Harmon but during the day it isn't that bad. Traffic backs up in front of Grand Chateau to where they have someone out there helping direct cars it in front of the property. This is on the side street that most people j walk across to get down to the strip or across E Harmon. People coming into the property don't know where to go when traffic blocking the traffic circle. As for race weekend. Stay away unless you are going to the race. Getting around the city between 5pm and 2am will be a mess.

Edit to add: I think prior road cloaures that were for resurfacing what will be the track surface probably cause more considerable delays compared to what is happening now. Now it is more just putting up grand stands and supports that are for the track lighting and walls.

We're here now for three nights, got in yesterday after driving over from the wedding in Temecula that was our main reason for this trip. So far the most exciting thing has been driving past the Ivanpah power station and realizing that it's the site of those three bright lights I saw from the plane when we flew into LAX the other day. (It really doesn't take much to excite me, I guess.)

Last night we wandered over to the Bellagio so I can cross 'seeing the fountain show at Bellagio' off my Bucket List. I'd never heard of the floral installation in the lobby there, though, and absolutely LOVED it! It has a sewing machine - how cool is that?!?! This afternoon we're going to the Sphere for the one-hour Postcard From Earth Experience and tomorrow night we're seeing the Cirque de Soleil Love (Beatles) show. Other than that, we'll be shuffling through the bedlam with all the other seemingly millions of people who are here with us, playing a few slot machines along the way, and probably desperately trying to find some peace and quiet now and again.

I have no idea what makes a good view or unit placement at Grand Chateau. We're in a dedicated 1BR on the 26th floor looking down on the entrance and directly across to the Polo Towers. I think we could be here ten weeks and still not figure out how to get around all of the construction (race and whatever is happening at the two sites in our view) plus the upstairs/downstairs for the elevated street crossings, but we're happy enough. :)

In my opinion, The Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Bellagio is the best attraction in all of Las Vegas. They change it out a few times a year with different themes and they are all fabulous. I haven't see a sewing machine, what was that?

The Cabo Wabo Cantina at Planet Hollywood is a great place for happy hour
It is just inside the entrance to the mall on Las Vegas Blvd
If it is warm enough, the patio overlooking Las Vegas Blvd is a great place to people watch
It is a little to far from the Bellagio to fully see the water shows
The view could be impaired by the F1 race preparations unfortunately
If you are a hockey fan, you are not far from the T-Mobile arena
This is the home of the Golden Knights NHL team
The entrance and bar row is only a short walk from the Grand Chateau

Terrible pic but I think I'll be going back to get better ones. :)

If/when you go back over, you should stop along the way and admire the Chihuly installation on the ceiling in the main lobby at the Bellagio. You would have to walk under it in most cases to get to the Conservatory where the botanical garden display is located.
