Does anyone know why Interval International has recently removed all Gold Crown Designations for their resorts on their website?

I assume the OP means "Five Star" resorts and not "Gold Crown". "Gold Crown" is RCI's designation and II uses "Five Star". It has been that way for at least 23 years. I remember back when I was a member of II several years ago, II had 2 directories, one with the "Five Star" designations and one without. You only got the one with the "Five Stars" if you owned at a "Five Star" resort.
Five Star - the top but virtually meaningless designation by II for resort ranking - was phased out a couple years ago by II and the Pineapple replacement also doesn't seem to have clear meaning (no set basis as RCI spells out for it's awards) and now you really can't even find the ratings OR the criteria for them anywhere on the II site. Completely worthless.
