Does anyone know why Interval International has recently removed all Gold Crown Designations for their resorts on their website?

They have used a different rating system for some time.

I was wondering the same thing this morning then I switched my browser to Firefox and there they were again. Try changing your browser and see if you get the same thing.

The Premier (gold leaves) and Silver Pineapples are definitely gone.

They're there for me - on both the list of my resorts and the available units pages. Using Safari on iPad.

I can see them using Internet Explorer but not Firefox.

I could be wrong but, didn't II only show the "Rated"resorts to those resorts that are rated?

Could it be that 2011 awards have been determined and resorts that did not make it are not seeing that designation anymore?

I can see them; using Safari browser for Windows.

No, I don't think SBP or Blue Ridge Village lost their ratings.

Haven't seen it for quite awhile

They have been "gone" for me for months. In fact its almost impossible to find out any award information on II. It never means much anyway as they aren't at all consistent in handing it out or reviewing the status. Plus the requirements are very nebulous so what exactly you're getting for a pineapple or a coconut isn't meaningful anyway.

Now the "member rating" section has also disappeared, even with Firefox which, at least for me, shows the awards.

I assume the OP means "Five Star" resorts and not "Gold Crown". "Gold Crown" is RCI's designation and II uses "Five Star". It has been that way for at least 23 years. I remember back when I was a member of II several years ago, II had 2 directories, one with the "Five Star" designations and one without. You only got the one with the "Five Stars" if you owned at a "Five Star" resort.

5* long gone and not missed

Five Star - the top but virtually meaningless designation by II for resort ranking - was phased out a couple years ago by II and the Pineapple replacement also doesn't seem to have clear meaning (no set basis as RCI spells out for it's awards) and now you really can't even find the ratings OR the criteria for them anywhere on the II site. Completely worthless.

Back on the sight now

I was just looking before jumping over to Tug2 and they are on the sight now. I have always found II to be pretty on target with their ratings myself

I find RCI rankings pretty worthless also_One of the worst resorts we ever exchanged into was a RCI Gold crown resort. It is the only resort we have ever stayed in that we gave a completely negative report on. I stll to this day can't see how RCI coujld hav e giv en thei resort a Gold Crown ranking, and have never trusted their rankings since.
