After 40+ years of T/S ownership, I am no longer "an owner"
I have 7000 points of wyndam points. I hate it, wish I never got it, and want to get ride of it. Got the call today from GMAC and thought it was to good to be true. Looks like I was right. Next thing, what is the easyiest way to get ride of this nightmare call timeshare. Please help me!!!
Phil

Phil,

I see you have also posted on the Wyndham forum board. Are you sure you own Wyndham, as there is nothing they would sell that is just 7,000 points . . . nor do I think they would sell 70,000 for that matter.

Timeshare Von, He most likely is referring to a WorldMark by Wyndham contract.

usafcop11- Send me a private message stating how much you still owe on the account, and if possible I'll send you a few broker referrals.

If you owe more than it can be sold for- simply keep reading and try to learn as much as possible to better use the program. WorldMark is one of the most popular timeshare programs, and often considered to be a good value is used to its full potential.

Good luck- regardless of what you decide.

Do any of you who were contacted by chance have their phone number? They have called me and assure me they are not the same company as you all are describing. They wanted $1650 to begin with. Dropped to $1150. Now tell me they will do $699. They are in Orlando. A phone number would be helpful. Curious as to whether this is the same company that some of you have dealt with that took your money and never sold your property.

Even if it's not the same company - look at it logically. If you pay their fee upfront, what motivation do they have to actually try to sell your property? None! They already have your money! Don't do it!

Any marketing company that has advertising rates based on "What you can pay" is not a good idea.. A good marketing company will have actual marketing costs that they incur, and should have consistent pricing for their services. And never doubt- you are only paying for advertising services- nothing else! You'll have to decide if their marketing is worth the cost.

I got a call today from GMAC -- wasn't there so she just left a message and a phone number to call. Seemed to know what Marriott's I owned and I'd like to know how she would get that info and my phone number.

Brian,

If you call back to find out how.... please let us know the answer. I certainly would not let the conversation go any further if her response seems fishy. Thanks

This is the number to the con artists. They now call themselves RCI Management Company. And they pretend they are calling from RCI when they call you. So beware!!!

I used GMAC years ago - paid 500 up front. Never saw a dime nor an offer. I called, begged, complained, yelled. NADA. Don't do it!
