So, we check into Marriott Myrtle Beach and there are no luggage carts available. We take are luggage to our room and alas, there is a cart outside two different rooms.

We go to park our car and get the top floor, as all spots were occupied, and someone parked right in the middle of two spots.

My questions is if you are the kind of person that does this pleased explain why you think you are privileged?

Really would love to discuss

Has to be an anomaly with the luggage carts. OceanWatch has the most luggage carts of any resort I have ever seen! There are always like 20 of them on the first floor of the seaside garage.

You may be asking the wrong people as Tuggers are generally thoughtful and responsible people.

That said, we have had this experience with luggage carts at several resorts. There really is no good excuse for not returning a cart back to where it is suppose to be. Sad to say, but some people just don’t care.

Best regards.

Mike

So, because there are a lot people can leave them on there floor?

We are in Conch and there were none at the time. Later we found a lot by other tower.

One possibility is that the vehicle occupants are overweight, elderly, or have some other issue, and they need the extra space to get out of the car.

Another possibility is that when they went up to the roof, they thought it would be no big deal to avoid door dings and take up two spaces. Hours after they arrived, the garage filled up.

I'm trying to be nice, but I agree that it is annoying.

That is not what I was saying. Of course people should return them when they are finished. I just stayed in Conch last week. I love MOW! Such a great resort.

Yes, there are a multitude of "legit" reasons, and I agree. But we all have seen people do what I described and its not annoying it is down right ignorant, for those without a "legit" reason.

Yes, MOW is our kids favorite and looking to buy another week in the future, one for each kid....

When I was checking out of Surf Watch early in the morning on a Saturday in Feb, there were now luggage carts around. There are typically at least six per building so I knew they had to be someplace. My brother and I started checking every floor and found four sitting outside of rooms. I'm confident that a few others were in the rooms so those people wouldn't have to go down to get one in the morning. Many people today are totally inconsiderate and lazy. On a previous trip, there was a shortage due to many of the contracting crews using them to move boxes around. I've also encountered a lack of parking spaces at some resorts because the employee golf carts were parked in those spaces. MVC management should be instructing their staff not to park in those spaces, especially on weekends during check-in/check-out times.

Luggage carts are becoming like lounge chairs.

It is probably the same people that put their full trash bags outside the door to their Unit at night.

Entitled people have no shame. Provide ANY convenience and they'll take twice as much. These are the same ones that rush the business class cabin seats the second the door closes. Or park in the handicap spaces at Walmart.

In todays world people feel privileged. They’ll show concern for the animals, environment, global warming or whatever cause, but not for each other

I once asked a person why they were in the middle of two parking spaces. They told us that there wasn't enough handicap parking and they wouldn't be able to access the door without enough room if someone parked too close.

I never use the luggage racks unless it is comes with a bellman.

I'm on vacation I'll act selfish to ensure my best life. Others spend their time whimpering and whining.

Using 2 parking spots ensures no one dents my rental car.

Usually i keep the luggage cart inside my suite so that it's handy for checkout.

We put towels on 3 pool loungers so we have 1 for our snacks and drinks.

We just leave the drink and snack garbage under the pool chairs as we don't recycle at home so why do it on vacation. Anyway they have staff to clean up.

We drink in the pool, i mean anything spills gets filtered by the pool thingy.

In the hot tub i'll tell my wife I'm hoping this morning's diarreha is gone to get us some privacy.

Once home from the pool we usually drunk dial other rooms to say " Hi same time tonight when your spouse is asleep" oh it's so much fun.

Most days we park in the no loading zone by the resort front doors for convenience.

I do not do this, so, it's not me. But, the thought occurs to me. One on a floor actually might not be so bad. There are two parts of a trip, when you check in, and when you check out. So, if all were left downstairs, then, checkin easy, checkout not so much. If all were left upstairs, then, checkin not so easy, checkout is.

Of course, this ignores the fact that one might not know which floor to look on, just saying there's at least a >0 reason though in no way is it worth it. I wonder if someone might be thinking this though.

I see carts in the hallways outside doors at least twice a week here at MKO. I have found carts outside my door quiet a few times even. Push the damn carts at least to the elevator lobby on your floor at least! How can you be so lazy to push a cart in front of someone else's room?

I have noticed this entitled behavior happening more often the past couple years after covid here at MKO. The crappy parking of taking 2 spaces, carts left outside in hallways and chair hogs have gotten worse at MKO.

What airline is this with? I have never seen an empty United business seat for at least the past decade. They are filled before the plane doors close in my experience. Even when we traveled in July of 2020, business class in United has filled every seat before doors are closed.

Your airline might be one I want to fly with if there are empty business seats after doors close. The flight crew lets the rush of passengers with coach tickets stay in business class seats?

Gosh, it's a really hard life at these resorts. The cost of privilege can be very high.

I saw this on a recent episode of CSI Timeshare - crime scene techs swabbed the luggage carts for fingerprints and compared those samples with those taken from room door handles. Heat imaging was used to find the most recent violent offenders. Suspects were then perp-walked out after having their hands and lips bound with pool lounge chair towel clips. Timeshare salespeople who hadn't made a sale in a week were assigned as their public defenders with most cases being settled out-of-owners-lounge for 999 Abound Points to keep it just under the level of grand larceny.

It is probably the same people that put their full trash bags outside the door to their Unit at night.
Now that I totally disliked. We treat our timeshare villa liked we are home. We make our beds daliy and the kitchen is clean every night before we go to bed for the Night

For parking, I hate that. My wife has mobility issues and it can be a pain in the ass.

For luggage carts, I must confess, it varies with the level of effort. If I just drove 8 hours, had to fight with a "concierge" for 15 minutes to get my parking pass, took a quarter mile walk and waited 7 minutes for an elevator, then yeah I may just leave my cart in the elevator lobby for the night crew. Usually, I do better than that.

My daughter says that returning a grocery cart is the ultimate test of your moral character, so there is that :)

THis is my kind of thread!

Luggage carts are my biggest pet peeve. I see a lot left outside doors or just in the elevator area of different floors. If I can't find any I will often go floor to floor. Many of the Florida timeshares are great if they have exterior hallways because you can just stand on the ground and see where a luggage cart may be. The worst situation of a luggage cart we had was at Surfwatch. I go to get on the elevator to go down from our floor and there is just a luggage cart on it. No one else. I guess the person who put it there figured the next person on the elevator would take care of it.
