First RCI exchange booked today - after an ongoing search

Well we joined RCI this year after buying on the resale market late last year and we deposited 240K points into RCI.

We paid for an ongoing search as we don’t have a platinum account and crossed our fingers a good deal would come up for a week over Christmas.

Voila ! We received an email this morning with a great resort in arizona for 38k points and of course it consumed our ongoing my search fee.

Sheraton Desert Oasis.

Did our homework and got the green light from the Mrs to book it.

This will be our first trip into Arizona and first trip away at a Christmas - ever.

So I am counting that as our first check mark for booking and exchange using RCI with an ongoing search.

Looking forward to learning more about exchanges through TUG members and of course retiring in 3 years when we can spend more time away.

It was a good day today and not only am I glad to have leaned so much so quickly from this TUG group but now my wife is getting interested too.

Happy to hear from some others how we could have done it better, besides booking for two weeks under our ongoing search fee.
