DRI US Regional Club Points- Cancellation/Best Use Options

Hi All,

I am new to Timeshare, I recently bought a timeshare from resale market with 2024 maintenance fee are already paid by the seller.

Collection Name- DRI US Regional Club
Yearly Points - 16500

Considering this collection is not part of HGV Max program & limited resorts availability. What are the best option to use or give away this option altogether as maintenance fee is very high, 3500 USD per year from 2025 onwards.

Hope you did not pay more than a dollar or 2. There are lots of DRI Resorts in the US Collection. You have a 12 or 13 month Booking Window in the US Collection. why did you buy it?

I was not aware of the restrictions like points can not be used destination exchange and all, any suggestions?

The points should be able to be used at any of the DRI US collection resorts. There are about 25 resorts in the collection which IMHO isn't " a limited
number of resorts"

Thanks for the info, Is it possible to use the points outside this resorts in RCI or Interval International, if yes, how?

If you own in the DRI US collection you are able to use Destination Exchange. It is also possible to use an exchange company of your choice. It has been a long time since I have done an outside exchange and I don't remember the exact procedure. Give Member Services a call 877-374-2582 and they can point you in the right direction.

It is possible I suppose that things may be handled differently with resale than with retail. Give things a try and see if it will work for you. The earlier you make a reservation the easier it is to get into a resort you are interested in.

16,500 is a good number of points. It could get you up to 3 weeks in some locations. For example:

Have you created an account? You can examine the points required for various resorts that might interest you.

You made an error buying this. Welcome to timeshares. Try giving it away on tug. Or find a way to use it .

I have sold many on eBay. I suggest you take some time to write a compelling advert on eBay, and offer it with a starting sales price of $1. To make it real attractive, list that you will pay the closing costs. HGV Max is not available via resale and is smoke and mirrors. Few desirable weeks and locations are left when the Max window opens. Where do you want to travel?
