I had no idea that dentistry was so profitable. A practice in Minneapolis and one can afford $100,000 hunting trips, and a multi-million dollar place in Marco Island, Florida. Who knew? I have a cousin who's a dentist. Maybe I need to get a little closer to him.

Mrs. Walter Palmer

Tonette Palmer also known as Toni Palmer is the daughter of one of the Jensen brothers that founded Norman G. Jensen.

NGJ founded in 1937 in North Dakota by brothers Norman and Gordon Jensen is one of the biggest Customs Brokers companies, today the company is run by Toni along her siblings Gordon, Dennis and Mary and her husband Steve Midthun. However Mrs. Palmer no longer owns it, left the company a couple of years ago and has no affiliation with the business- we got an email from Norman G. Jensen and told us that Tonette Palmer is a former owner of Norman G. Jensen customs brokers. In 2012 Norman G. Jensen was acquired by another customs broker company called Livingston International.

Tonette Palmer a real estate agent at Homelight.

The ironic thing about animal lovers is that most of them eat MEAT. Meat that is forced fed and then slaughtered. Then complain of hunting in its purest form. I find this very hypocritical.

Hunting has been, will always be, a more humane way, a more respectful way, of taking animals. The arrow used to kill large game cause that game to bleed out unless the arrow strikes perfectly. The hunter has to follow that game to kill it or find it. That wounded animal , depending on species, has the ability to to actually find you.

Archery hunting is the purest form of hunting, in my opinion. It takes more effort and often times the animal wins. It is not like shooting an animal from 600 yards. You have to get close.

Then if you take into consideration that the trophy type animals are usually the older animals, that are likely to be genetically inferior to the younger males, the hunter should be thanked for culling the wildlife. My example for this are men in their 50's are not as likely to produce offspring as easy as men in their 30's.

So you're saying that the good doctor married well? Nothing wrong with that. There's a long tradition of it. Ask the current Secretary of State. Or Lord Grantham of Downton Abbey. Injecting a little levity here. :)

And I believe both Lord Grantham and John Kerry have been seen hunting. One for sport and one for campaign photo op.

I don't find anything automatically wrong with either hunting or fishing. A current hunting/fishing license is in my wallet today. My problem with the subject of this thread is the chosen target. I may shoot, or catch game, but it is neither endangered, protected, or a beloved 'pet' as was 'Cecil'.

Even shooter/hunters mantra is 'be sure of your target'. It appears that ol' Walter didn't exercise good judgement before drawing the bowstring or pulling the trigger.

In fact, I agree. I was just being a smart-alec about the 2 examples, besides Walter Palmer, who married well and hunt :) Coincidental, not causal (or at least I don't think so)

And yes, I do have some taxidermy trophies on the wall as well as many pictures to remind me of how magnificent these creatures are.

Sad to hear it. Obviously you won't be swayed by the opposing school of thought.

I find your comment offensive and would say that if your only experience in this is watching tv shows your opinion is uneducated at best and is more of an emotional response.

And I suspect that the animals whose lives you snuffed out were pretty offended that you killed them.

If hunting some how offends you, then the treatment of food animals must really be offensive to you. If your eating store bought meat and have issues with how others might harvest their meat, I would label you a big ole hypocrite.

How many animal lives have been "snuffed out" by your diet ? Plenty I would bet. So that would be more even more hypocritical than the "I can't connect with hunters" garbage. You can't connect with a hunter but you can connect with a butcher ? BS !!

This Cecil thing is a non issue and because of some media coverage has gained a bit of traction through unfounded emotional outrage.

I don't know of anyone who goes fishing to catch the smallest fish. Every one wants the big fish. The same goes for hunting.
