I am partial to Hilton Grand Vacations ๐ŸŒž I like the number of properties they have available. I like being able to book those properties without a booking fee through HGV Max. I like that you can book locations for relatively few points if you are flexible. For example, we booked a studio for 5 nights at Elara Las Vegas for 1280 points and a studio for 7 nights at The Cove Ormond Beach (Daytona) for 1800 points. And, I like the Hilton brand in general. If we had the money, we might have gone with Marriott Vacation Club. Their location in Palm Springs looks amazing. Other than that, I do not know much about how their system works...we went with HGV anyway.
Thank you

@raffal The answer is simple in theory. The "perfect" timeshare is one that you find value in your stays in relation to what you pay in fees (maintenance fees, exchange fees, reservation fees, banking fees, etc...), have locations where you like to visit and the ability to make the reservations you want, when you want.

I say simple in theory because there are so many other variables. Having a very low maintenance fee, while giving a good value short term, will likely cost you in the long term with special assessments to cover deferred maintenance. Assessments tend to make people angry about their perfect timeshare. These timeshares are also especially difficult to give away free. Also, if you can't plan many months in advance then even the perfect timeshare will be a frustration when you can't find something to book.
My friend - question is simple and straightforward, don't make it more difficult than really is - u know the answer- answer , if not I'm pretty sure there are other forums with other questions-- this is not philosophy class to talk about " theories -) good luck

Marriott and Vistana enrolled deeded weeks are the best and most perfect systems.

The question is NOT simple and straightforward, and @RX8 answered the question perfectly in the first paragraph.

The best one is the one that has resorts in locations you want to visit.

Personally I like the Marriott system for the locations and resort quality.

I also like Wyndham because it has a ton of unique locations that I have enjoyed even though many of the Wyndham resorts are a step or two down from Marriott quality. (some of them are still very nice and more than adequate for my needs.)

Wow. You're about to go from getting very helpful answers to getting crickets real quick...

There isn't a perfect timeshare system, and none of them are even remotely close to perfection. Your question is neither simple nor straightforward because an answer doesn't exist.

You've been here since 2005 and you're asking this question? And you don't like the 'it depends' answers? I don't know your motivation but your current 2 threads and responses are troll like. Don't expect many to take your questions seriously.

raffel has posted essentially the same questions on TUG in 2009, 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2023. He should go back and review all of the many helpful responses that Tuggers have already posted over the last 15 years, before demanding more answers.

nevermind :p

For me, I own 4 Marriott Lock-offs and an off-brand Hawaii timeshare. I use and stay in the Hawaii one, but trade the Marriotts. I split the lock-offs, reserve the highest demand weeks and 95% of the time exchange up to a 2 BR unit (using Interval Intl).

I enjoy the higher quality of the Marriotts and I live in a location that has fairly good driving access to a number of resorts that I like: 4 Marriott locations in Palm Desert (plus 2 Westins), Newport Coast Villas, Canyon Villas (Phoenix), Timberlodge (Tahoe). We've gone to the Marriott Grand Chateau in Vegas and like it. I like the 21 day "Marriott Preference" period. I also trade out-of-network to places like Hyatt Pinon Point (Sedona), Shell Starr Pass (Tucson), and a bunch of others. Marriott also has pretty good representation in Hawaii. So, for me Marriott works well. But it is more expensive.

Hey guys question is a question- if u don't know - don't answer - it is simple - I don't need " philosophers here ,-) straight to the point
I'm glad we have a block button here.

I am proud of myself for typing a reply, and then deleting it, before posting. Instead I used the mantra below out loud.

This dude is wasting his time and everyone else,- instead admit he has no answer and this the proof - he compared /2009, 2014 etc to 2024, - that's what we deal here with ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ is like driving Honda or Mercedes is the same for him , or driving 2009 VW vs 2024 VW -- that's why I rather ppl like that don't talk thanks !-))

If u don't understand difference between 2005- vs 2024 we can't help you,- if u had the money u probably wud own 20 timeshares- every free tickets they would give h - u would by into the program I bet ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

This "Dude" thinks we have exhausted this topic -

and now this gentleman is going on a rant on his twitter about how TUG is a scam because this thread got locked.

fascinating turn of events for sure. (took me forever to even find the thread in the first place as he wouldnt post it, vs a screenshot of the last reply)
