We’ve been owners in Diamond Resorts International for several years.
We were in Maui last week and purchased more points and converted all our points into the Hawaii collection.
Is there a market for the Hawaii collection like we were assured if we decide to sell our points sometime in the next 10 years?

With some diligence, you might be able to find someone to take them off your hands, for free. If you got anything at all, consider yourself lucky.

By the way, did they tell you that if you decide to sell your points, they will strip the Club membership from the account? That is, whoever buys it will only get the points, but your Club membership will not transfer.

Can you still rescind? You only have 7 - 10 days.

I don't want to sound discouraging, but I have read the complaint sites for 7 years. Diamond sales has a record of using your current "Club" to sell more points, and convert owners to the "other" club. If you are in the US Club, you should be in the Hawaiian Club. Reason? Better resale ability. If you are in the Hawaiian Club, you should transfer to the US Collection because property taxes are going up in Hawaii, and you maintenance fees will be skyrocketing. You might be better off rescinding this transaction until you can verify what the sale person said. You could also join the Diamond Facebook page and see if anyone has been in a similar situation.

In the sales presentation they pump all of the benefits of the Club to make it sound like such a great deal it is, and how it makes the whole ownership so valuable. And then often they leave you believing that if you ever need to sell that will make your ownership so valuable - because they don't tell you that the Club membership.

I do say "often" because I have been in Diamond presentations in which the sales person has been clear that if we ever do sell, the Club membership will not transfer. So some of the sales staff are up front on this point.

There is no market for any of Diamond's points.

The best you can hope for is to give them away while you paying the transfer fee.

If you can rescind this purchase, do so.

The problem is, benefits are subject to change in the blink of an eye and Diamond has been screwing around a lot with benefits the past two years. No one should ever make a purchase because of some supposed wonderful benefit.
