Well our first trip to the mainland is here. The Molokai airport was not very crowded. We were the only ones there when we got there.😀

The flight over to Maui was pretty smooth. Only had some wind at the landing. Mokulele didn't disappoint. They were even 20 minutes early.

Not too busy in Maui either. Kim got the wheelchair assist. We had one of the furthest gates and she would have had a problem walking that far.

We had about an hour and a half layover so we had plenty of time. Only a half hour left now.

We get to Denver at 6am and our daughter is picking us up at the airport. Her and her boyfriend are taking us out to dinner tomorrow. Otherwise we don't have much planned. We leave for a week in Wisconsin on Friday.

We exchanged into the Tamarack in the Dells. That's only about 2 miles from where we used to live.🤙🏻

Our daughter took us out to The Garden of The God's today. Our first time there. Beautiful area!

It was a nice drive, she lives about 45 minutes away. It's warm here, today it reached 95 but we did pretty well with our water and we took breaks often. We had a quick lunch at the Cafe in the gift shop area before we headed back.🤙🏻

You saw a Big Horn Sheep.

Our daughter lives in CO Springs. She loves it, but it never really gets warm in summer (her opinion).

It was about 87 while we were there and there was a nice breeze, plus it was a little overcast.

There was another Big horn but I couldn't see that one. It was a beautiful day.

We're back at our daughter's condo now. Sounds like we are having Giordano's Pizza 🍕 tonight.🤙🏻

We had a wonderful visit with our daughter and now we are at the airport waiting for our flight to Madison Wisconsin.

We're both glad it's only a two hour flight. We pickup our rental car at the airport and then a 45 minute ride to Wisconsin Dells.

We should be just in time for check-in and then off to a Friday Fish Fry.🤙🏻

We're at The Dells now. Did the Upper Dells boat ride this afternoon -- a two hour ride, very pretty, two first year college coeds were in charge, One was the tour guide, the other was the "pilot." She did a nice job handling the boat. (I pay a lot of attention to such things having driven surface vessels from two tons to sixteen thousand tons.)

The Dells is an interesting area but I don't think I've ever seen a place with more ways to spend money. $9 plus tax to play a round of mini-golf, $9 plus tax for the go-carts and they are in walking distance from the condo. Plus dozens, scores, of places in town. Myrtle Beach isn't even close!

the two towns have less than 6000 residents, they take in a couple billion a year and have millions of tourists Each year. They turned it into a year round destination with the resort hotels.
go to crane foundation, circus world museum, mirror lake and devils lake state parks, a lot more bang for your buck.
the Ducks ride is fun
i never did it but the lost canyon tour is supposed to be really nice.
have you driven past mt olympus and Noah’s Ark yet?
Have you seen downtown dells and the river walk, and the HH Bennett historic site.

I watched a review of Wilderness resort and the reviewer said being there was like being on a cruise ship. It has all the attractions and shows, but add the beautiful scenery.

The fish was excellent. Kim was ready for the Friday Fish Fry.

The tables are made from the wood from the old. Owning always that used to be in the building.

After that we took a ride through Baraboo and went past our old house. We'll drive past our last house too tomorrow.

Then we stopped at Kim's twin sisters house and talked for a bit. We are meeting a group of friends tomorrow at one of our old hangouts in Downtown Baraboo tomorrow. 🤙🏻

I've only driven through the Smokey Mountains once but I got a total Dells-vibe when I was there.

My understanding is that Wisconsin schools (by law) cannot start until after Labor Day and I think the idea behind that law is that teen labor is needed to support the tourism business.

I think that's correct. Back in the day, I believe it was because of the kids working on the family farms.

No matter where we go anywhere in the world, when we get to a touristy town, we always say "It's kind of like the Dells". :D

We got up this morning and Kim is freezing.:D It's 72 here now and supposed to be up to 77. We are in the living room and she turned on the fireplace to get warm.

I do recommend the Tamarack. While the units are dated, the location is awesome. So close to everything but far enough away to be nice and quiet.

Yes, it seems so cold this morning here at Christmas Mountain.
my grandsons go to Dells schools.
I chaperoned the eighth grade send off last week.
five ducks picked them up, drove them to the ducks ride, after that knuckleheads for bowling ,trampolines , and rides. Pizzas delivered by moose jaw, then drove them to jet boats on upper dells, they took the boats to witches gulch then back. Huckleberry ice cream cookie sandwiches were given out, they all walked the river walk and golfed at Timber Falls, then walked to Jose’s for a taco buffet. All provided by the merchants. Finished up about six pm.
