DC Points vs Trust points

I guess that answers it.

But there is a distinction that a Trust member who waitlists does not deposit their Trust points into the exchange company (until the exchange is confirmed). A weeks owner who waitlists using exchange points does deposit their points into the exchange company (at the time of waitlisting).

This is akin to Trust points having a "request first" feature while points from converted weeks having only a "deposit first feature".

Yep, agree. An Exchange Member has to convert a Week to Points in order to use the Waitlist feature. I'd do it if I had a number of choices in mind that would work for vacations, and if it continues to appear that Marriott is doing what it can to facilitate successful exchanges. But as an Exchange Member I wouldn't limit myself to only one choice of resort or check-in day with the DC, because as you say it's not like II where you can pull back your "request first" if nothing becomes available.

Good evening

Quilter....

Go to tug related topics, then 3 pools of points...not 2

Happy holidays...

I did. The only problem I have with his breakdown is "Since Trust inventory is zilch. . ."

How can it be zilch? Aren't Trust members, in effect, owners of Crystal Shores, Oceana Palms and other properties that weren't sold out? Can't they access any of the unsold inventory at those resorts as long as they have purchased enough points for their request?

I haven't read at that site, but from what you've written here I agree with you - Trust inventory isn't "zilch." dioxide is keeping up with a pretty good thread here that details what Marriott has conveyed to the Trust (and it's not only sold-out resorts.)

good evening

The Trust inventory is clearly not "zilch:. I was referring to the 3 pool/IOU bucket analysis...

I think that really defines it pretty simply!!!...

Happy Holidays to all...
