It would also depend on if the owner was carrying any mortgages on the timeshare. The higher the mortgage balance, the more it would cost for the "exit" services.
 
are many now who have converted to a "monthly fee" or similar as part of their exit program...this is how they put marketing spin on not paying any upfront fees!

yep, dont pay anything now, you just sign this contract to agree to pay us 500/month until we get you out of your contract! what a deal!

If that person had a large loan outstanding (not unheard of when you get suckered many times for "upgrades"), then that amount may have seemed reasonable that person. "For a mere $41K, we will get you out of your ownership, your $4K annual maintenance fees and your $75K loan!"

He must be one of those LEAST SOPHISTICATED COMSUMERS the lawsuit keeps referring to.

From what I understand, Timeshare Exit Team advertised on a few different shows. Later when their endorsement by Dave was working out so well and driving them so much business, his show was pretty much the only one they were advertising with.

Yea, that's pretty much how I understand it. I don't listen to either one of them now (occassionally while driving I may have Beck on, but not often). He (Beck) drives me nuts with his doom and gloom and how everyone should buy gold and how everything is so great in Texas.

Home title lock is another one I hear. I am sure at some point down the road people will realize the scam it is also.
