Do you know if the day use benefit transfers or how it can transfer. I'm in Denver area and that is apparently a very big benefit with both GL7 and GTL.

Thanks!
I don't know the answer because I am from Louisiana and do not take advantage of the day use benefit. You may want to ask other TUG members who own and live close enough to use it.

To answer the OP condensed question - I had the same Q as you when I stated buying resale TS. What is a good trader I can buy in order to reasonably exchange into property XXX through II.

At that time, I WISH I had heeded the words of the people who said: Buy where you want to stay. Would have saved me a lot of time and frustration. Just keep this in mind - a "good trader" 10 years ago might not be an optimal trader today. Not because it's a bad property, but because so much has changed with II in the past ten years, and it's certain to change again. If you buy where you want to stay, you will ALWAYS be able to go there, on your terms. Reserving a week where you want to stay is no different now than it was ten years ago or ten years from now.

If you can't afford to buy where you want to stay, consider renting.

Good advice for sure. I will only purchase my next one at where I would stay.

Of all the mountains in the Vail/Beaver Creek/Breck/Winter Park area, I like Breck the most. Both for the active mining town main street feel as well as the terrain variety and challenge on the mountain. Many people see Breck's wide blue slopes and think of the ski resort as ideal for beginners and intermediates. That is true but Breck also has the most challenging terrain when compared to the other Epic resorts such as Beaver Creek and Vail.

Beaver Creek is very upscale and nice but the terrain variety is not great. That said, you may love it because their customer service is excellent and many people ski/board at a terminal upper intermediate level. Regardless, visit Vail, Beaver Creek, Steamboat, and other resorts before you buy another timeshare.

From my perspective, Alta is the best ski resort in Utah and Breck is the best in Colorado. "best" = combination of terrain difficulty, snow quality, value, and feel. Check them all out and decide for yourself. Remember - buy resale!

I just met a woman who lives in Salt Lake City and she said Alta is her favorite too. Apparently, no snow boarding is allowed there she said. Plus Alta is not on the Epic Pass. (I just got notification, the Epic Pass will inlclude Telluride next year!). I am a permanent "blues" skier and likely will be a permanent "greens/beginner" snow boarder. Thanks for the info!

My understanding is that day use transfers with resale weeks from GTL but not at GL7. You should check with the resort to make sure. Apparently, the original developers of GTL "learnt" from the GTL experience and removed it when they built and sold GL7, and presumably, GC8.

Yes, it does transfer on resales at GTL; but only at GTL. The developers learned their lesson and excluded the Owner Benefits transfer from resales at GL7 & 8.

I just bought a Summer EOY (paid $650 through an original owner on CL) primarily for Day Use, as I have kids and live in Golden. I'll probably use the bonus time occasionally as well. I haven't yet been able to use it because I literally just closed, but I'll probably use it once a week for the rest of the ski season, and likely pretty often through the summer too. I'll see how this goes, but I can see picking up a Winter week somewhere in the Epic pass orbit as well...

I believe "Day Use" has to be booked and is subject to availability.

Correct. It's through a website; 7 day advance and opens at 7am. I've been told ski weekends fill up in <30mins. I am driving up tomorrow to fill out the paperwork and get my fob, and see what the deal is for the following weekend. (I'll post back here).
