We recently stayed at a Marriott timeshare using a week of DPs,plus added one extra night with cash consecutively. We did the same thing the previous month, adding two cash nights. Each transaction was treated separately, thus giving us added MRPs and the 500 platinum points each time. The second time we did not get this,so I went to the front desk and spoke with the manager. He stated they combined it into one stay.I showed him the way it was done the first time, and he said it would be taken care of. I see it still has not. Am I correct in understanding this?

No. :) The correct way for consecutive reservations/nights to be counted for purposes of the Marriott Rewards Platinum Arrival Gift is as one stay. I've also had some stays where the 500MRP are given for each separate reservation number, but if they don't do it that way then you don't have a legitimate claim to demand it.

Thank you for the info. I guess I got lucky the first time, and thought it was supposed to be done that way. Too good to be true!
