The Costco Visa has many of the same benefits for dining and travel. The two things it doesn't have are primary rental insurance (however you can get that with most other chase card such as the $95 United card).

I am getting tired of the devaluations and the time it takes to stay on top of this. Just saw an article this morning that Marriott has been rebooking awards reservations and taking away more points even mid-stay. More to stay on top of. 2% no fee cards looking better and better, however, like @klcpa I do like to have the UR rewards for plane tickets and paying for activities.
Thank you for pointing out that United Explorer Visa card has the primary rental insurance. I did not know that. After I terminate CSR membership this Nov, I will reapply for the United Explorer Visa card. I had that card for the past 3 years and only terminated it a few months ago because I did not want to continue to pay for a card which I did not use. The free bag and lounge were useless to us because my husband is only willing to fly business/first class.

Maybe we need to stop normalizing instances that are 0.01% likely as if they are common occurrences. Media does not report successes, only fear. Fear sells.

We use DoorDash - and other ‘Gig’ services - without issue - and not a Millennial.

We are also able to send (when needed) cooked foods to our elders - or get them a ride to doctors, etc. when we can’t be around.

We will be dropping CSR if their annual fee increases.

We like CSR's primary auto rental coverage, but will likely drop or downgrade CSR too. I have Chase British Airways card and will check what other coverage they provide. I was going to drop BA card.

Near the sea.
I have the SW card, the BA card and the Reserve card. DH also has all these cards too. He will most likely cancel his CSR card and transfer points to mine. I am the only driver and like primary rental car ins. We never fly United and I never shop at Costco.
I also never use Lyft or Uber or food delivery. We mostly transfer CSR points to SW and BA for flights. Maybe I will look into some high end B and B or hotel.

I'll miss combining points within Chase:

Say you have 60K CSR points worth $900 for travel.
You also have 40K Freedom points (worth $400)...
Add 'em to your CSR account, for a total of 100K.
You now have $1500 in travel. I'll miss that.

I don't use Lyft or DoorDash. So these new "benefits" are worthless for me.

But the cash value of the points when redeemed for travel is the real issue. If Talent downgrades his card to the Sapphire Preferred, points are worth 1.25 cents each rather than 1.5 cents each. So his 100K points would be worth $1250 in cash value if he holds the Sapphire Preferred, but $1500 for the Sapphire Reserve card holder.

It is pretty easy to accumulate a large number of Chase Ultimate Reward points fairly quickly, particularly if you have multiple cards that earn U.R. points (a Sapphire card, Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, and a business card).

So I'm afraid they've got me. I don't see a suitable alternative that would be nearly as lucrative in terms of the value of the rewards. But I agree that a $250 fee (after the $300 travel credit) is hard to swallow.
