Capital Resorts Club points value with RCI?

We own a deeded week at Roark in Branson MO that we use to trade into RCI. They have been bought by Capital Resorts Club who say the resort needs "extensive" renovations. They have given all members three options during the takeover. 1) pay $8200 to keep our week (which is more than the original purchase price and not an option) 2) pay about $2000-3000 and get 150,000 points with Capital Resorts Club or 3) pay three years worth of dues and they take the contract back over. Since we currently are on weeks through RCI, we aren't sure how the points transfer into RCI and what they are worth. RCI says they can't tell us since we aren't on the points system. Does anyone have an idea what they would be worth? I'm thinking the whole thing is shady and tempted to walk away from it, but if there is value in it, it may be worth it to stay.

That’s sounds shady and the 2nd timeshare place I read tonight on here that is offering to take a unit back after two years of MF upfront lol. That’s insanity as well. Sounds like it would trade in TPUs with RCI on a weeks ownership. Not familiar with points but RCI ZMAY BE ABLE TO TELL YOU HOW MANY RCI points will come if you switch to a points ownership with capital resorts

Are you sure they are talking about RCI points and not Capitol Resort points? I thought Capitol Resorts Club traded with Interval.

Something not right with this scenario. They take over and it seems by your choices they are trying to force you into the Capital point club system which in resale has zero resale value. How much is three years of due?

I was happy with Capital until Apollo took over and took away all of the benefits. I am trying to use up my points and start a give back paying about $1500 to do so. If you had asked me this time last year, I still wouldn't have paid to get Capital points but would have said 150,000 points could get you some decent stays vs the MF's for those points. The way they have the points structured right now you would just barely get a 3 night summer weekend in a 2BR Branson for 150,000 points and your MF's would be $1000 in MF and club dues per year.

It's three years of MF upfront. Our benefit is we have paid this year and next already to deposit into RCI so in theory, we would only owe one. We called RCI and they said they couldn't tell us what they would trade for unless we had switched (and we were wanting to know what it was before we committed).

They are offering Capitol Resort points, but we were wondering what the value of trading into RCI would be. Thats what we used the resort week for anyway. Three years is about $2000, but we have already paid two years upfront.

Yea, thats what has me nervous with them. They don't give a good example of what our points will "buy" with them. We have a prime week that we trade into RCI to exchange and can't find what their points would give us in trading.

So if you pay the MF upfront you can deposit the weeks in RCI to be used and walk away? I’d say walk away. If you want a timeshare again buy one with a bigger system with great resorts, like MVC or Vistana with star options.

We have deposited two weeks, but they won't let us pay the last year and deposit it. So we would have to pay out $700 and walk away. I'm thinking that may be the way to go.

THIS. I like the Capital resort we stayed at over Thanksgiving 2017--not sure if that was before/after the takeover by Apollo--but if there are significant renovation needs, I think they will cost you, as an owner in any scenario, more than $700. That's not a bad "exit" fee.

I’d say so. But I’m not familiar with the new system. I wouldn’t buy into a new system that’s not a bigger system that you can go to 4-5 star resorts like Westin
