I just received a call to see if I was interested in a golf tournament in Orlando. I was surprised because it's after 7pm on the West Coast, they must work late at the call center

I had inquired about it online in 2023 and they are just now following up for the 2025 tournament.

I told her I don't have any plans to visit Florida next year and she agreed to close out the inquiry.
Strange, they must keep a waiting list for these events.

My wife and I attended the LPGA tournament in Orlando in January 2022 as part of an offer that also included an outdoor concert with food stations and open bar. I think it cost about $65 total and required a presentation, which I think is the last one we went to. The concert was cold, but Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes performed and were great. I would definitely go again if offered. In 2023 and 2024 I have been in Orlando just after the dates of the concerts, but the performers they have had didn’t interest me anyway. I’m headed back there in 2025 with some friends for a golf trip, but I believe they have moved the tournament out a week or two.

yes, that is the tournament I was interested in at the time, but not now. I was just curious if anyone else had received calls since they appear to need attendees if they are scraping the bottom of the barrel calling me.

I do enjoy golf and watch the LPGA, those young ladies smash it a lot further than this old man can.

My problem would be that ANY call, I would immediately think SCAM even (especially) if the Hilton name is used in the call.

You are correct as my phone marked it as Spam. The caller ID was HGV MAX so I was just curious enough to want to verbally spar with the caller. 844-508-9414

We always attended the Bayhill tournament in Orlando. I remember trying to get Orlando and the RCI agent actually told me I should try to get the pga to change the date of the tournament because that was a busy week.

They must know that I would as soon watch paint dry as watch a golf tournament, much less live. So they have not called me :)

Cheers.

If the artists performing interest you, attending the concert and skipping the golf is always an option. If I remember correctly we went to the concert either Tues or Weds evening and went to the Pro Am on Weds or Thurs. The presentation was Friday am. $70 for free food and drinks plus two great artists was a nice evening. The rep we had for the presentation basically threw in the towel on me and exited stage left. She was trying to sell us on how she liked to travel. Totally tone deaf.

Didn't realize that they had music also. Concerts, I'm interested in, so this could work. But I can likely see them elsewhere, so it would have to be special. But thanks for the info. I was not aware that music was a factor at these.

Cheers.

I think last year they had 2-3 concert nights. I think these shows came out of the Diamond side of the company. We met a few employees at the concert and I think they might have been previously used as employee recognition events. I haven't look to see if there are any artists announced for 1/2025, but none of my golf buddies will pass for my wife, so attending one isn't an option anyway.

I went to a PGA tournament once. Aside from seeing Dustin Johnson 4-putt a green, what I found entertaining was the gallery -- a lot of folks walking around with beer in their hands..

This is a true story. Happened several years ago. Arnold Palmer was retired but he played in the pro am at the Bayhill
We were standing along the fairway and I saw Palmer tee off. My husband was no longer beside me. I was sorry he missed him until I looked across the fairway and my husband was talking to Arnie. He was demonstrating a swing to Arnie Arnie waved the group on and I saw him introduce his wife to my husband. Years later, my husband would say he showed Arnie Palmer how to improve his swing. Then as Alzheimer’s progressed, it was tiger woods in the story.
Another time he followed Steve Stricker in a practice round. Ends up riding in a cart with one of strickers staff all day. Then stricker bought him lunch.

Resurrecting an old thread as I have received a call from this number two days in a row now. I haven’t answered so I am sure they’ll call back again. Has anyone been able to confirm if this is a scam or not? I haven’t inquired about any tournaments or events.

Mine was driven by a reservation I had at HGVC SeaWorld the week of the tournament. Initially it was going to be a couple of buddies and I doing a golf trip, but they both bailed and my wife and I traveled down and visited with our son in So. FL before he moved West and then spent 4-5 days in Orlando. As I mentioned up thread, we attended the ProAm part of the golf tournament that was primarily owners only, attended the outdoor concert with Sheryl Crowe and LeAnn Rimes + food stations and open bar for $69. Definitely a good time and well put together. I'm quite sure that this was formerly a Diamond event and likely a boondoggle for their execs and sales reps.

We did have to attend an hour Owners Update the following day. That ended up being the last real OU that I have been offered to attend and completed.

It's legit, HGVC is the tournament sponsor and they sell packages to HGVC owners.

It's coming up the end of January 2026.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll answer the next one as I am now curious as I don’t have any bookings in Florida

The LPGA Tournament of Champions is an awesome event. I attend every year. There are three concerts, a pro-am golf tournament and four days of LPGA golf tournament where some celebrities play along with the ladies.

Tuesday is a concert with celebrity selection party. For 2026, the concert is the Beach Boys.
Wednesday is the pro am tournament.
Thursday is LPGA round one with a concert in the evening. For 2026, the concert is Ella Langley.
Friday is LPGA round two.
Saturday is LPGA round three with a concert in the evening. For 2026, the concert is Kelly Clarkson.
Sunday is the LPGA final round.

There is a HGVC food and beverage tent at the ninth hole every golf day, offering complimentary food and beverage for members buying a package.

Each of tbe concerts has food and open bar.

Tournament tent food is buffet style breakfast, and later buffet style lunch. Concert food is tasting plates. All food and beverage is unlimited.

HGVC has various packages usually with one concert and one golf day. They also offer larger packages. These are ultimate access events with a copay and required presentation. I am attending everything in 2026. I love this event.

Well…mine was just to sell me a marketing stay because of my recent resale purchase

Thanks for the details! My wife and I are going for the first time in 2026 and looking forward to it. Kelly Clarkson was the draw since we were looking to see her in Vegas and helps that we live in Sarasota a few hours away.

Enjoy! You can stand right next to the stage for the concerts and be within a few feet of the performers. You can walk around freely during the concerts. The concerts are at an outdoor venue and go on rain or shine. Temperatures can be unpredictable in Florida. Last year was very pleasant. The year before was cold. They have heat poles setup all over and have first come first served thin blankets which are like economy blankets on a plane.

I got a call from the same number the day before we arrived in Las Vegas for the F1 Grand Prix.

They try to sell you one one of the Ultimate Access packages. Last year we did it and the food was well done and it was a great atmosphere. This year I skipped it - didn’t feel like sitting through a presentation this year and the selection of artists didn’t really appeal as much.

If you go to the golf tournament, Lake Nona is a beautiful golf course with some very nice scenery.

We are going to the LGPA January 26. Should be a good time. Staying at Tuscany for the week.
