Wow! I had an Timbers and a Cottage UDI at one time. I sold them when they were still worth something. I wouldn't see the value in them anymore since we live in Florida now. I miss going to Wisconsin Dells but good memories though,

This post is a perfect example of the scam that exit companies run. The OP mentioned that Wesley Financial wanted $5000 to help them exit. Wesley advertises everywhere, has an A+ BBB rating and many positive reviews. That doesn’t make them a good company. All Wesley would have done is the same exact same deed back that Bluegreen offers to its owners and then keep the thousands of extra dollars paid by the timeshare owner as profit. Wesley, and others, prey on timeshare owners who lack the knowledge of their options. Wesley in particular, is not an ethical company despite what they want one to believe. Just one example of that is when a TUG member replied to a question by a timeshare owner on Wesley’s Facebook page. A timeshare owner asked about their particular resort and the TUG member replied that their resort had a deed back program. What did Wesley do to protect their little scam and keep their potential victims in the dark about their options? They deleted the TUG member’s post and banned him from replying again.

Here is just one excerpt from a complaint at Wesley’s BBB page.

“They charged us $6000.00 and wasted nine months of our time to do something that could have been completed in eight weeks without their services. Wesley is a scam worse then the timeshare industry.”

Well that didn't take long! I received an email early this morning from Bluegreen Customer Care. It advised the release of my contract was now complete and an exit packet was attached for my records. That was a total of 15 days start to finish to exit my Bluegreen ownership. Glad to be done with it. It was not cheap, but glad I did it the right way.

Thanks for sharing this.
Especially helpful is the time line, very helpful for people to read about the actual process and how long it takes.

Interesting they haven’t contacted you other than the MF bill.

Pinnacle collection calls every now and then but doesn’t leave a message.
I picked up once to try to get them to take it back but they weren’t interested so they can just keep talking to the ignore button if they don’t want it back. I told them eventually they will have it back so bye bye.

So Tom, are you totally out of timeshares now?
I am in process of selling my Little Sweden week, but will keep my UDI for another year as it is our only access to bonus time . My daughters in laws like to come up and the kids enjoy being together.
Is your week sold already? If not, I would be interested.

I would like more details too. It’s possible she got a threaten to foreclose letter, because she hadn’t stopped paying that long.

the threat is the norm for sure.

im not aware of any actual foreclosure process that would be done in a relatively short time. those are usually measured in months or years.
