So excited for our Toronto Blue Jays who just beat the Yankees in the ALDS and head to the ALCS for the first time since 2016.
Go Jays Go -all the way to the World Series!

Okay. This is strange. I just did a search. I was trying to search for 2015 but accidentally typed 2025. "Who won the 2025 ALCS". Here is what Google's AI spit out. Is baseball predetermined like wrestling now?

Lol. Not sure what the AI is hallucinating, but I'll take it. I also think if MLB was pre-determined the Jays would be the last team MLB would have picked to win. They'd prefer the drama/big market appeal of a Yankees-Dodgers or Yankees-Cubs.

I've been a Jays fan for a long time (Joe Carter's WS winning home run is a foundational childhood memory) but this is probably my favourite Jays team since then. I love the hustle - they all give 100% all the time.

Vladdy legs out infield singles, Clement is diving into first to beat the 1B to the base, etc.

The other series going 5 is huge as well - if the Tigers win the Jays only face Skubal twice in the ALCS now (not 3 times).

I think it's interesting that the Tigers and Mariners are the two MLB teams located closest to Canada, and the two where you'll see the most Blue Jay fans travelling to the away games.
May as well just play the whole series at the SkyDome. Either way it will be a home team advantage for the Jays.

I was at the Skydome in 1992 as a season ticket holder when the hometown crowd counted down the last 9 strikeouts for the Blue Jays to win the ALCS for the first time. It was especially satisfying as we beat the Oakland A's and our nemesis at the time, Rickey Henderson. It was an exciting time and I'm hoping for a repeat win this year! Go Jays Go!!!

I remember that day too. I was in my late teens. I was a huge Jays fan through my high school years. I think almost every Canadian knows where they were when Joe hit that home run. The 1994 lock out kinda ruined baseball for me for a while, then life went on. I don't really watch the games but may start to tune in this year if they make it to the World Series. If I can get the antenna to work. I guess I am a bandwagon jumper.

The 1994 lock out ruined us in Montreal. The Montreal Expos were in first place in the National league and also the MLB with 74W-40L (0.649). The NY Yankees were 1st in the American league but second overall behind Montreal with 70W-43L (0.619).
So, our odds was good to participate to the playoff and win the World Series.
That was a good reason for the MLB to go on lock out to avoid seeing 23 years in a row a Canadian team winning the World Series.

The Montreal Expos exchanged many players or let them go in 1995 because they had no money to pay those great players again and 10 years later (2005) the club moved to Washington DC. The Washington Nationals won the World series in 2019.

3 years in a row. It killed my fandom for awhile.

Shortly after the raptors came to town and went to
More of their games than the Jays.

OK fans
Let's go Mariners

See ya Sunday after the Seahawks win.

Hot mic on Detroit Tigers radio announcer - ooops!

Congrats to Seattle
Great Game
My Tigers had the opportunities
They didn't get it done

Great sportsmanship for an outstanding series. Extra innings…could have gone either way. Ask Phillies fans

The Toronto Maple Leafs (hockey, for those that don't know) game has been moved up to a 2pm start so both teams are not playing at the same time. It is going to be crazy busy in downtown Toronto with the venues being only a couple of blocks apart. Thankfully it isn't a normal work day.

Go Jays Go!

Good catch. I fix the typo.
Thanks
the blue jays were 3 time defending champions.

Sad that the 1994 team minus a few ended below .500.

Then 1995 was just bad.
