Bare Escentials

My husband tried to talk about BE on QVC. I think they thought he was a nut case or something. LOL All he was going to tell them is how much he liked it on me because it didn't fade out. He said liquid makeup always faded by the end of the evening.

Just wanted to thank you and let you guys know how pleased I am with the makeup. I have very uneven skin tone, red blotches, etc. Bare Minerals covers this while still looking like I have no makeup on at all! Jerry says it really looks good, too.

I love it!

Fern

Fern....I'm so glad you like it! Makes you skin just look dewy, flawless and so young, right? :) I am a major BE addict.

I'll be in St. Louis next weekend shopping while hubby is attending a conference there. I can't wait to hit the Galleria Mall. That have a great BE boutique there. One of Leslie's products that I just love....is her gossimer product. You can brush a light film of it across the top outer corner of you cheek bone toward the outer corner of you eyes. Just makes your eye color "pop"! And looks so radiant.

This thread has convinced me to give BE a try. I've seen the infomercials on QVC and late night but I rarely trust infomercials.

I love Bare Escentuals! The thing about it is, you do not have to spend a lot. There are a lot of reputable sellers on eBay who sell BE. Go to eBay and try Seeka at Nothing But Good Things. That's where I get all my BE from.

I could not find this seller. Could you post a link to one of her auctions?

How do these Ebay sellers get BE cheaper than you can purchase it for at "official" BE boutiques?

I can't imagine that Leslie sells wholesale.

Actually, I checked out the many other eBay sellers of BE samples and decided to skip them because it is evident from some of the descriptions or photos that they are not selling the "officially" packaged BE makeup samples -- instead they buy in larger quantities then transfer the powders themselves into smaller "sample" containers. I don't care if they claim the containers are/were sterile at the time they transferred it. I don't feel comfortable buying/using makeup that a non-professional lab person transferred in their home. How can a non-professonial outside a lab promise the makeup would not be contaminated in some way? The savings $$ is not worth it to me. I'd love to find a eBay seller that sells the actual unopened containers obtained directly from BE -- if anyone finds one please let me know.

The other way some of the eBay sellers I looked at save money is via the offering of their own brushes (for those looking at kits) -- you can get cheap brushes in beauty supply stores; they are not the BE labeled brushes for those who care. I have no idea of the quality of the BE labeled brushes, but in my experience having used less expensive drug store sold brushes and more expensive better quality brushes I get better application from the better brushes and they last years longer than the cheaper ones, saving me money in the long run.

I just purchased a "Starter Kit" from ulta.com. The i.d. bareMinerals Starter Kit includes a How-To-DVD, Flawless Application Face Brush, .06 Oz. Warmth All-Over Face Color, .06 Oz. Mineral Veil, and two .06 Oz. SPF 15 Foundations in two colors.

It was $45 but I clicked to Advertised Specials and received a 20% off coupon, Code 49137 for a a $38.97 plus aprox. $8 for tax and shipping.

Thanks so much for this information! That is the BEST price I've seen so I also went ahead and ordered it from ulta.com. The only difference between this starter kit and the one sold by BE on its website is that the ulta.com starter kit not come with the two additional brushes and that one eye shadow sample. Also, since there are no ulta stores in my state I did not have to pay tax; my shipping was also less - it was $5.95.
