Does anybody use Bare Escentials makeup? Are you pleased with the coverage and feel of it? Its pricey, but worth it if it does what they say it does...

I tried a get acquainted package and liked it. I didn't get the foundation but my fav was the eyebrow wax & color w brush. I've been using Clinique or Estee when they have the free gift. shaggy

I use the radiance, and the blush - luv it. The foundation tends to emphasize my pores, so I don't use it. My daughter age 19 does use the foundation and swears by it.

I, too, swear by the foundation and mineral veil, which is the setting powder to be used with the foundation. I won't wear anything else now. I'm 38 and am always concerned about having large pores and finding a foundation that covers them. BE works wonders. It's also the easiest and quickest foundation to apply that I've found. I love it!! ;)

Another vote for Bare Escentuals

Hi Fern:

I don't like to wear a lot of makeup, so I love this line. It's very natural, simple to use and it makes your skin look flawless!

Try their introductory kits on their website -- they have great brushes. I just bought another complete set yesterday on QVC (a Today's Special Value). Now I'm starting to give myself away, but I'm not going to post my age like Buzzmom.

Bare Escentuals

I love this stuff, but I find I need to to mix several shades to get the right foundation and its expensive to buy 2 or 3, so I recommend a starter kit which includes at least 2, plus good brushes. I found there are a lot of people selling samples as well as full sizes and brushes on ebay for far less than retail. Buying the samples lets you try out colors. Also you can buy a sample of a shade for mixing to lighten or darken your foundation.

I've been using it

I've been using it for a few months now. I'd suggest getting the starter kit and watching the DVD. Maybe getting a makeover at a shop, too.

The mineral veil doesn't make my pores invisible, but it helps.

Fern, look at the getting started kit on spalook.com. I received mine about two weeks ago and I love it. What's nice about the getting started kit, it has all the pricey brushes in it that you would use with Bare escentuals. I just received a thank you letter from spalook for being a first time customer with a couple of ten dollar off codes :) If you would like one just pm me.

Love it!

I started using it about six months ago. It's so much easier than my old routine. I bought the starter kit and from there added to it. The worst part of it is that it is so messy. I'm always cleaning up spilled powders here and there.

I really like the foundation. I wear #3 in the winter and #4 in the summer. As the seasons transition, I dab my brush in both and mix in the cap. I do not like mineral veil - never understood it either.

One of the things I like about the foundation is that you can put on a little or a lot easily. Also, you can put it on while you do other things, ie, not paying attention. With a traditional foundation, you have to pay attention to which sections you've covered. With bare escentuals, you just rub the brush around on your face and neck. Always end with a downward stroke to make sure your face hairs are lying down.

I HATE the blushes and eye shadows. They are impossible to use without making a mess. You absolutely can't take along the dark eyeliner powder in the car, for instance. I emailed the company once and asked why they didn't make travel friendly products.

I usually get my foundation from ebay (watch the sizes) but a spa in town now carries the line so I may start purchasing it there.

I have used BE for the past year and just love it too. It feels so light and natural. I also don't find my clothes getting stained with make-up. I don't like the feel of liquid foundation on my face.

My 13 year old daughter uses it too, and all of her friend's parents ask us about her make-up, she appears very natural with it.

I am not sure where you live, but I know that the store Ulta carries it. I also know that they always run commercials for it on t.v., and think that it is priced decently through the commercial.

Another vote for BE! Love it, love it! I use the radiance, mineral veil and glee (blush). I haven't tried any of the other items in the line. Yes it's pricey to initially buy, but one container lasts FOREVER!

If you have an ULTA store near you, see if you can go in and get them to apply the makeup on you. That's what I did the first time. I'm mid 30's and wear it and my mom is late 50's and wears it.

My daughter loves it, she has rosacia (spelling?) and doesn't irritate her skin and covers the redness. Like some one suggested getting the intro deal online is the best way to start.

My daughter, the "makeup queen" introduced me to it. I noticed that her skin looked flawless and asked her about her makeup. She told me it was BE. When we met up in Atlanta, we went to a BE store to get a "make under." Although, I am a QVC fan and could order there, I wanted to try the foundation colors in person.

Since using BE, DD doesn't look over made up like she used to, thank goodness.

Another makeup diva said my skin looked flawless when she saw me wearing BE for the first time. I think it's the Mineral Veil that does it.

I've acquired a bit of makeup and some brushes from my daughter and some kits from QVC. DD has a tackle box of BE! She went on the 1st BE cruise. She just told me she has a glimmer, I think that's right, named after her. It's called "Girlfriend Margo." It's in a new catalog on QVC.

http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/qvc/m...t=3&cm_re=PAGE-_-PROMOTIONS-_-1:SPRINGCATALOG

You can order the spring BE catalog from QVC at 1-800-345-4492

Fern: I used all of the products for about a year, after that time my skin started to look dull. I then changed to DHC products from Japan and absolutely love everthing I get from this company. They even sell health foods. The rice in my opinion is unsurpassed. I still use the brushes from Bare Es. with the DHC products, their brushes are wonderful. :)

LOVE LOVE bare minerals!!!!! I started using it a few years ago. My skin glows and people comment all the time about how beautiful my skin looks. If you are applying correctly....your face glows like a toddlers...you know that beautiful "new" skin look.

Plus the product is soooo good for your skin, you can (but I don't) sleep in it. Doing that with liquid makeup will cause lots of skin issues!

I use Leslie's shadows, blushes, foundation, radiance (evening outings), and lip gloss.

Another vote for BE!

I use the multi-tasking bisque under the foundation to cover some redness and it works very well. I don't like a heavily made-up look or feel and BE never looks or feels heavy.

The eye shadows are ok, but I don't think they are any better than other eye shadows.

I agree about getting several shades so you can mix them to get the closest color.

I love Bare Escentuals! The thing about it is, you do not have to spend a lot. There are a lot of reputable sellers on eBay who sell BE. Go to eBay and try Seeka at Nothing But Good Things. That's where I get all my BE from.

How do these Ebay sellers get BE cheaper than you can purchase it for at "official" BE boutiques?

I can't imagine that Leslie sells wholesale.

I have no idea how they get their stuff or if they even get it cheaper. A lot of stuff is not always cheaper on ebay itself, especially if you buy it outright through Buy It Now. I have gotten stuff a little less, however, on Seeka's auctions. For those of us that are nowhere near an Ulta or BE boutique, it's great. The one thing I like about the ebay sellers is that I can get samples of eyeshadows for very little, thus feeding my eyeshadow addiction. For example, her BE samples are $2.50 each. There are other BE sellers other than her, but I can't think of the names right now.

Just wanted to thank you and let you guys know how pleased I am with the makeup. I have very uneven skin tone, red blotches, etc. Bare Minerals covers this while still looking like I have no makeup on at all! Jerry says it really looks good, too.

I love it!

All of you have talked me into trying BE but before I do, can someone tell me if these products are hypoallergenic and do they have a fragrance?

Thanks

The foundation has no fragrance and you could check the website for the allergy specifics.

Glad to hear you like it Fern.

I just purchased a "Starter Kit" from ulta.com. The i.d. bareMinerals Starter Kit includes a How-To-DVD, Flawless Application Face Brush, .06 Oz. Warmth All-Over Face Color, .06 Oz. Mineral Veil, and two .06 Oz. SPF 15 Foundations in two colors.

It was $45 but I clicked to Advertised Specials and received a 20% off coupon, Code 49137 for a a $38.97 plus aprox. $8 for tax and shipping.
