I can see Youth Sports resuming. Reasons being lack of huge crowds, smaller squads and the young less susceptible to the virus. I have my doubts about big time college and pro football. 90 member teams, huge crowds and who knows how many students on campus...

Looks like Toronto is one. I would prefer Vancouver or Edmonton for the other. Too many cases in the US, Nevada included.

Down to 6. At least 1 Canadian city and the only one in the east is Toronto.

Sports are starting back because the virus is now acting as the annual flu (which was predicted by some) with the majority of humans. Provided we keep the most vulnerable at low risk, why not let the low-risk healthy play sports?

Looks like the MLB is starting back in a few weeks. Yea!

Yeah, but the National League is finally knuckling under and will have the dreaded designated hitter. :wall:
SOTA!
A Crash Davis speech seems appropriate here...

In today's news, it appears Las Vegas is off the table in favor of all Canadian cities. Story still developing...

Looks like I was right on that front awhile ago. Lets see how college (pro) football does this fall. Even the NBA is leaving open the possibility that it may all be for nothing. MLB is tough as they are trying to do it in each city and a lot more teams as it their start of the season. If I am a league I am trying to get it done as fast as possible. Does not work for football as they can go up to 2 weeks between games.

I'm assuming you're talking about the National Hockey League (NHL), Yeah, I see it was just announced that Edmonton and Toronto will be the hub cities if the NHL returns for the 24-team playoff format to try to complete the 2019-20 season.

Yes you assume correct this time. Really no other way to play it as the Canadian government allowed group quarantine which I do not see being effective as if one in the group infects another at the 13-14th day then that person infects another 13-14 days later then it can keep going. But if all test negative after 14 days then should be good to go. But the best of a bad situation.

Question becomes what if one hub city or even more bubble bursts? The other hub can award the Stanley Cup? Surely Bettman has thought of the value of scrapping everything versus awarding some deserving team The Cup. Maybe Quebec and the Golden Horseshoe will end up with teams after all of this.

The NHL has announced they're starting the playoffs on August 1st with The best-of-five qualifying round will run simultaneously with a robin robin tournament to determine seeding for the top four teams in each conference.

I asked this in another thread, but what happens if one of the NHL bubbles becomes unplayable?
