The robotic lawn mower is like a Roomba vacuum cleaner from the looks of it. I kind of want one but it wouldn't work at our place unless it could climb stairs.

One thing I have learned about proper care for these batteries is to not let them get too cold. I used to leave the batteries in my garage over winter (where it gets well below freezing temps) and I had two batteries that failed under 2 years. After dealing w/ the second failed battery, their warrantee department mentioned that they should be kept out of the cold. Now I keep the batteries inside during the winter months and I haven't had a single failure yet.

The Battery Chargers and Batteries when not in use stay in the Basement. It is also recommended that if the Batteries have sat unused for several months (as can happen over the Winter) that you give them a short Booster Charge before using.

I just bought a Ryobi push mower and it's so much better than my gas powered mower. Quiet, light weight, and stays clean. I also have the blower, trimmer, and hedge clippers. I now have three batteries. I use the hand tools also using the smaller battery. The key is to stay within brands.

yes, staying within the brand so the batteries all fit.
I wish there was USB charging for these lawn care tools

What is the predict life span of an electric mower and have often do you need to replace the batterie in an electric mower?
My main question is; how does the lawn look after using an electric mower ?
It cuts the lawn the same as a gas mower, but really it's the blade sharpness IMO. I have had the blower and trimmer for about five years and the batteries are still fine. I haven't seen any issues with holding a charge or anything like that. I just bought the mower, so I don't know about that one. That said, I can cut my yard with about 25% of the mower battery capacity. I have about 5000 square feet of grass.

Which honestly is such an increase in lock in - there's no reason we should not have a standard battery like we have standard gas. What if Sthil has the best chainsaw, but someone else has a better lawn mower. This anti-competitive behavior ought to be regulated out, but I am not holding my breath.
You MAY be able to find a battery adapter on eBay and/or Amazon. Since the battery and the tool company do not warrant the adapter, they may not work perfectly. At least with Amazon, if it does not work, you can return it.

So I bought the Greenworks but desperately needed to mow my lawn so i went through the trouble of trying to clean the carburetor on my gas mower again. I usually just take it somewhere but instead watched a youtube video and did the tune up. And sure enough the mower started right up. So now I'm thinking I'll just tune it up every year myself and forget the new mower.

30 minutes later the mower died again. My new one arrives tomorrow. Not soon enough.

So my first reviews of this new cordless mower are very good.

Pros:
Much Quieter
No more pull starts
has a strong light on front to help at dusk
plenty of power - I did my .29 acre with power on one battery to spare.
No more gas or dirty carb to deal with

Cons:
It is heavier as both batteries are on the unit at the same time
I'm concerned it will be less durable as its made of plastic. Time will tell

My 2yr old battery Ego has already proven that it can take more abuse than my (now in mower heaven) gas-powered Husqvarna mower ever did.

My batteries are removable for charging. Makes the mower quite light.
