4 today on a regular, run of the mill word ;)

For my 2nd guess , I was thinking of many words except the answer:
DREAM, DREAD, BREAK, FREAK, CREAK, CREAM

Fast start, slow finish. Almost too easy.
Sitting here watching and listening to the BIRDS sing on this beautiful morn. Got the starting B with R & D out of position. However, I’m certain the R has to be second and the D has to be last, so I immediately think BREAD, BROAD and BRAND. I try them in reverse order and use all three. Fortunately, I didn’t think of BREED right off or I would have used it before BREAD and taken a five.

Lots of choices today so I finished with a 4.

4 again. I was so sure my 3rd guess was the answer after going thru almost all the vowels in the first 2 guesses. Fortunately my "sure" guess contained a new found consonant.

If you're square like me, four is the place to be.

Bringing up the rear again with a five. This hasn’t been a good Wordle week for me. Glad it’s almost over.
I was looking at the planes leaving their contrails overhead and decided to start with SMOKE. All I got was an out of position E. I turned to the dark side with FIEND which got the E in the correct middle position but nothing else. GREAT found an R out of position. Several different possibilities went through my porous brain at this point. I finally decided I wanted to check for a Y and I thought LEERY was a good choice, and it was. I got ERY in position plus a second E, which had to be the first letter, leaving me with ExERY. EVERY step you take. EVERY move you make…

Another vote for four. Fairly typical session. The first two guesses are to narrow down the vowels plus eliminate some of the more common constanants. The thrid try starts to get serious. If that doesn't work (fairly often) by that time the number of letters left will usually dictate the right answer.

Five. Not much help early on. Only two letters after three guesses.

Do you ever wince and give your keyboard side-eye as you click the Enter key? :D
