Anyone playing wordle?

I also had a four.
I decided to take a wild stab at some not so common consonants just to see if I could surprise the gods at the end of a long week. Eh, not so much, BLACK coming away with a lonely L. But, instead of giving up, I tried another with the V in NOVEL. Excellent, getting the last 3 letters, VEL, in position. I thought it was LEVEL but that only added the E as the second letter. REVEL was all that was left.

So I am eating breakfast and my cereal is "Great Grains." Hmm... there are two words that meet my criteria for starter words: two vowels and a "t" or an "n." Must be a sign. I chose the first word despite my aversion to positive words (negative words always do better). So how did I do?

Its interesting. A number of us had what was my fourth word adding one more line to our score on this one. I put the correct word in first, but at the last second switched to the word of line four. Must have been the curse of starting with a positive word that grabbed hold of me.

Too small a sample size. You should try it for a week or two and see how it goes. :ponder:

Oh my, 3 today! I was trying for more 'positive' thinking and it paid off.

I wanted to REVEL in hope of getting a 3 than being REBELlious. I must have unconsciously been REPELled by the P in my starting word. ( Repel was never in contention for the last guess)

A fast 4 today, out of nowhere.

Four. I feel lucky at that, based on the three words before it.

Another three ...

Bully for you! Five for me. I didn’t branch out on vowels.
Same. I also had a brain fart on my fourth guess.
WATER found and A and E both out of position. The logical choice was BEACH which got the A in correct middle position. SPADE then left the first position as the only spot for the E. So, I have ExAxx. Now the brain fart. I tried ELEGY before realizing there was no A. At least I found an L and came up with EMAIL. At least I’m out of my run of fours.

Four today. A couple of decent tries on lines two and three but they were wrong. That pretty much left only the correct word for line four.

Five. Note to self: Drink more coffee before tackling this game.
Second note to self: When guessing, don't forget to include letters you already know are in the word. :wall:

3 for me!

I initially didn't think of EMAIL as a word,
but none of the 2 consonant beginnings fit,
so I started looking at vowels for 1st letter.
The V in starter word actually became a useful (not a throwaway) letter cause it r/o AVAIL.

For 2nd guess, my options were FRAIL and FLAIL and TRAIL. I was surprised when both the F &R turned gray.

Wordle, arriving on the shore in a giant scallop shell, a zephyr wind inflating the score to a naked five.

Love the Three Dog Night reference and I’ll join with my own three.
My BIL and his wife are staying with us for a couple nights on their way to Key West so I tried GUEST. Only found a homeless T. TRAIN added an I and R, also out of position. BIRTH was the first word I thought of and so I got lucky. I’ll take it.
