Another four.
Going for a little DRIVE this morning which gets me an I out of position. I used POSIT next looking for common consonants. That got me the starting T and, effectively, relegated the I to the second position. PINCH looked like a good guess and it did get the N correct, leaving me with PINxx. The first word that came to me was PINKY so I gave it a try. Meh.

Back to foursomes.
SHUNT tested for WORSE, HORSE, BORNE, and FORTE. And if SHUNT missed entirely, that would point to FORCE as the solution. But after hitting H and S, HORSE was the only remaining possibility.

Looking like a four day.
It’s looking like a very nice BEACH day in St. Augustine. But, first, I have to get the E and H in correct position. I try PHONE and get the ending E and add an O needing a home. A HOUSE is a home and now I have everything in place except the middle letter, HOxSE. A HORSE is a HORSE, of course, of course…

Whew 3 today. I was really doubting today's answer cause we had a similar rhyming answer about a week ago.

The letter patterns on my 2nd guess immediately reminded me of my horse/worse guesses last week. I couldn't quite remember that answer, so I checked back in my screenshots. It could have been MORSE as someone guessed last week, but as it originally was a name, I thought less likely to be included in the WORDLE answer list. IIRC someone did guess MORSE last week and WORDLE accepted it as a word.

Three.

After guess 2 it had to be REGAL or GLARE. Unlike a few days ago, this time I chose wisely.

Four, after being absolutely, positively, certain I had it in two. The gods are laughing uproariously.
I noticed the trees around the lake, and elsewhere, have become very LEAFY, and very productive. In trying to decide where to go with the A and L, I eventually came to the pattern xELAx. Immediately, I thought the ending x is more than a placeholder. The word has to be RELAX. Except, it wasn’t. (Sigh) Now, I have RExAL. I had actually thought of RENAL as my second guess so I just went with it without seeing if anything else fit. I should have taken my time.
