Three. Fortunate opening word with a good guess on word two, but it was wrong. Three is still a nice result.

We semi-compete on how many guesses it takes each day, but we don't keep score. Most days we have the same number, some days he does better, others I do better. It's about equal overall. We also compare the word guesses we use to get to the answer.
Sometimes we have similar 2nd , 3rd guess words.

We do Spelling Bee separately, then when we have each exhausted our efforts come together to combine our words. We always have several words that one of us missed.

I thought of the answer fairly quickly, but did run thru all sorts of letter combos for end of word just to be sure.
DH got a 3 too, from screwing up on his 2nd guess , which gave more info than if he didn't screw up
