BREAK got me nothing and PIOUS got the IO out of position. I thought of ONION but then I almost talked myself out of it because it would only try one additional letter, N. But, then, I thought, if nothing else, maybe it gets the I and O in the correct position(s) and I can solve it from there and get a four. I was a little surprised when I saw all green.

Do you two keep score and have a competition?

We semi-compete on how many guesses it takes each day, but we don't keep score. Most days we have the same number, some days he does better, others I do better. It's about equal overall. We also compare the word guesses we use to get to the answer.
Sometimes we have similar 2nd , 3rd guess words.

Every word I could think of with the two correct letters was not possible by the eliminated letters. It took a while to change my thinking to the correct vowel/constant mix
