Anyone own a VW Diesel in the recall?

Volkswagen Says 11 Million Cars Worldwide Are Affected in Diesel Deception http://nyti.ms/1MGozMS

This is a global problem not just a NA one. A 6Bn problem at that.

Something else I read, if I find it I'll post it, said the steering sensor was a key input.

Whoa! 11 million!

And yay! I was right on the steering sensor input! :)

We have 2!
Bought for the mpg. My passat averages near 48 mpg. I don't want that "fixed".
I am concerned about resale, although usually drive cars 200k or so.
But the value of my car just went down like a pinto.

We owned a 2011 VW JSW TDI and chose to do the buyback. We turned it in the first week of Dec 2016. We were given $20,533 for it with 71K miles on it. We just learned last week that we are getting another check from Bosch for $350 for their software cheat program.
We never had any issues with it but were told that the patch would decrease mileage AND performance. Diesel fuel is higher than gas. Since the car would be really hard to sell in the future, we decided it wasn't worth keeping. We replaced it with an Audi.
