The Governor of Virginia have called for a State of Emergency because of the weather forecast for snow.
For northern and western Virginia counties - not much snow forecasted for Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach

Any chance it was ice cream? I love ice cream, regardless of temperature and weather conditions. My daughter thinks I’m crazy when I eat it in cold weather.Made a quick stop to pick up a sweet treat for myself because I totally deserved it!
I was driving earlier this morning in Suffolk & Chesapeake, Virginia and VDOT was putting down some road liquids snow treatments.on Route 17 and Interstate 64.For northern and western Virginia counties - not much snow forecasted for Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach
This reminds me of one Caribbean cruise we took where the cruise director was from Chicago. He said that his friends (or was it family?) asked how he could stand the heat. He would say, "At least I'm not shoveling it out of my driveway."It is fun when you area kid, pretty to look at as an adult, but not fun to drive in or to remove from the car and driveway. T

Dave, not a snow fan.

Best thing my parents ever did was leave Ashtabula after I was born!I do love snow! Despite the numerous white-knuckle drives in white outs over the years here in NE O-H-I-O, I still appreciate a good snowstorm! Yesterday there was a lull in the snow, so I decided to drive about 20 minutes to the library since there's nothing better than hunkering down in front of the fireplace with a good book.
Ha! About a mile from home, the winds and snow increased to a mini-blizzard. Visibility was nil and I missed a key turn trying to stay on the road. Made it safely, chose my books and left the library to find the snow had stopped. Made a quick stop to pick up a sweet treat for myself because I totally deserved it!
Ashtabula- eeks. When DH was transferred to Cleveland many moons ago, and we were house hunting he was told the east side was where the lake effect snow belt was. That's how we ended up west of the Cuyahoga!Best thing my parents ever did was leave Ashtabula after I was born!
We love the mountains and snow too! Very grateful for the pimple hill called Boston Mills here where we learned to ski. As you patrol Steamboat, if you come across a rusted Rollei 35mm camera, please let me know. It was "lost" by our son in powder during a college trip there, also many moons ago! While sitting here in Ohio watching the snow fall for most of the day, I’m getting ready for my 28th year of moving to Steamboat Springs for the season. Started out as a part time ski patroller, then pure ski bum, morphed into a part time cashier and have settled into a part time worker in the Ticket Office.
LOVE the mountains and the snow.
Of course after 3 months of it, I top it off with a week in Puerto Vallarta
