Any Update on ETA on Transfer of Resale WorldMark? Any ways to expedite this?

I paid Tochoa/eBay a modest amount for a fully loaded 20k contract in beginning of December, > 3 months ago. Apparently they sent to WynDumb that day but I have yet to get the paperwork from WynDumb for DocuSign/transfer. Per Tochoa/eBay, this is normal & to be expected & will take upto May for me to get anything from them to sign & another 3 months thereafter to get it transferred to me.

This was my very 1st TS purchase as a newbie (have gotten HGVC since, whose CS, in comparison, is amazing & MUCH MUCH faster transfer etc) but I loved the WM locations (next to NPs, which I love to travel & hike to).

Have read many posting 3-6+ mo for transfers; some even 12 months :-(

Any suggestions on realistic ETA or anything I can do, to facilitate? (my understanding was they are totally incompetent & useless and it is what it is, but curious if calling them will facilitate or anything I can do or just chillax & wait, as I have been)?

TY!

When I purchased my resale WM on eBay years ago, it took every bit of 90 days for the transfer - which was basically just changing the owner names and contact info on the account. Anybody who could type could have taken care of things in a few minutes. There was no reason for it to take so long, other than lack of interest on the part of Wyndham staff to deal with WorldMark resale purchases. They made no money on the sale, so what's the rush? They finally got around to it, and I was able to log in and use the account.

Coincidentally, I received a "Welcome to WorldMark" package in the mail months later. It was basically a "Here's your account info" page with my account information (that I already knew, and had been using for months), followed by dozens of pages of boilerplate printout that could have been linked from an email, saving lots of paper and postage. By the time that package arrived, I'd been using my account long enough for it to be absolutely meaningless.

My advice: Sit on your hands and wait till they get around to you. Your experience is not unique. Thomas Ochoa is a very experienced seller, and what he says is true - they take their snail's pace speed with transfers.

Good luck!

Dave

In process on a few combination transfers as follows two 6k ownerships into a 12k. Then combining a 8k into the 12k for one 20k ownership
11/01/2025 Signed combo request online direct with Worldmark , 6k into 6k
01/20/2025 recieved recieved Docusign to transfer, signed and returned same day.
01/27/2025 signed in to my Worldmark account to find the two 6k ownerships were combined into a 12k
1/27/2025 signed combo request on 8k into 12k ownership
02/02/2025 called Worldmark to see when second combination would start and they said after first combination was finalized in approximately 16 weeks 🤔 Not sure what more has to take place but account on line shows the two 6k accounts as one 12k now?
I will add additional info when available.

@WManning , I think once you have an account, it is MUCH faster, per many folks experiences.
It's folks like me, who have nothing with them, where it seems like it takes forever :-(

@DaveNV , Agree; it is just changing name on a club membership at WM unlike HGVC where it IS often an actual deed, which requires ROFR from HGV, recording deed at county etc, so more steps but it is usually done within a month at HGVC. Love HGVC & looking forward to it but hope WM delivers in the next few months... (I bought from tochoa as this was my 1st TS purchase ever & as a newbie wanted everything to be kosher and had heard excellent reviews for them, here at TUG. They were excellent & very efficient in purchase part. Now, just waiting on WM..) TY!

It'll get there. It will just take longer than you think it should. (And you'd be right.)

Again, good luck!

Dave

Anyone have any transfer time news for 2025 ?

Bill

I am still awaiting for the docusign from early December, 5 months out & then will wait many more months for the actual xfr
And tochoa/eBay was like chill out or you are SOL ('we will keep all the monies you paid').
Not nice

I bought off of eBay last July and account was in my name and active by November - there was a “process restart” in August by WM, docs were sent out to previous owner early October , they had some email issues and delayed signing process - but once returned to WM it seemed to go fairly smooth.

Mine has been awful despite me actually *paying* to tochoa/eBay, who is usually well respected, here at TUG. Nowhere in his listing did he say it would take 5 months for WM to send the docusign contract & then another 4 months after that (as he told me, months after the fact, when I asked him as to how long this is taking), or I would never have bought. Even his new WM listings as of earlier this month did not say that & I asked him to pls update his listings, so newbies like me know this. (Pros & others who frequent TUG know this, but I was a TS virgin & was naive (as it was a modest $ & thought I should have it in 3-4 months).
I have HGV, which I got months after WM & absolutely love it (& have already enjoyed many HGV stays) and have trips booked to SoCal, Vegas, Breck, Park City, Hawaii on HGV but still waiting on WM. Very disappointed with tochoa. Not nice.
Glad you got yours much faster.

I did call WM several times and asked if they have any record of the transaction- they never gave me full details - but would give me some idea of the process and an idea of where my transfer was - and I constantly contacted the broker. Sorry they are stringing you along … there was a point when I started doubting the process as well … hopefully tochoa isn’t the problem

They got paid & I am stuck waiting. He claimed his staff call WM 'every week' (I hope so)
I was told by others that calling WM won't do anything & hence had not been calling them but can try.
Certainly not happy with tochoa & his attitude (washing hands off, after the sale)

The actual transfer following the completion of the Docusign takes 2-3 weeks, not "many more months."

fwiw - My early October purchase fully transferred mid-March, so your experience is nothing unusual (so far).

There is nothing any broker can do about Wyndham's transfer timeline.

Unless it was the broker or their closing agent who actually dropped the ball and seems to be ignoring it and just saying Wyndham is the problem. A five month turn around on WM from the time Wyndham was first notified seems excessive.

the 'at least 4 more months after DocuSign from WM', was per the email from tochoa (for anticipated timeline, months after payment/transaction in early December)..
I think for folks who are already owners in WM system, I have seen posts sharing a much faster turnarounds but for newbies like me, it seems much longer.
Realize it is WM (responsible for delays) but still would be nice for well established, respected brokers, to make it very clear on their listing re timeline for WM xfrs (as it certainly would have impacted my decision to (not) buy)...
Not happy with them but it is what it is :-(...
Hope WM comes through soon, as I am now at almost 5 months, from the time I paid & I still don't even have WM docusign as yet :-(

What does that have to do with a WorldMark account transfer time?

Anyone can call WorldMark Title Services and they will tell you "10-20 weeks" for a transfer. In my experience, 10 weeks is optimistic to get just the Docusign email.

If it was a freebie at TSN, I would have been all good with how-so-ever long it takes, as free & nothing out of my pocket until I own/get usage.
tochoa's contract has me on the hook for MFs since December which is why it is even more frustrating that I have paid them for MFs from Dec thru June & the xfr has not even started to happen on WM side. Hate to keep paying MFs for something I don't even own.
Never again.

WorldMark used to be a fast closing and transfer. I remember having my points within 3 weeks after signing. I bought from a broker with Angel in their name.

Something doesn't seem right and I suspect it is your broker who is at fault and doesn't want to bother to look into the problem.

When was that? I have not seen Timeshare Angels list a WorldMark timeshare on eBay in more than 10 years.

Out of curiosity, I looked up a WorldMark account purchased February 22, 2010. I received the transfer confirmation from WorldMark the beginning of June, 2010, so it was taking 10-20 weeks even back then.

But that wasn't just to receive the DocuSign? It seems that @mountainboy has been waiting 20 weeks already without a single peep or DocuSign. They are still at least weeks, if not months, away from it actually being available to them to use after DocuSign is completed. Which they don't even have that yet.

I guess the silver lining for buyers is the WM account will be fully loaded with credits when you get it ?

Bummer. So you are paying the ongoing mf and the account will still be loaded. Not as good a deal as a TN's listing but not that bad either.

We went under contract for WM points in March and by August nothing had happened. We called the broker periodically and he said he was checking but there was nothing he could do. Finally in early August I got him to give me the WM phone # and the contract number. I called Wyndham every other day for about 12 days, and each time they said they escalated it and it should come through in a day or two, which never happened. I took notes on who I talked to and what they had said, and finally one of the friendly and sympathetic women got a supervisor for me who seemed appalled by what we had been going through and promised we would have it soon and whatever she did, it worked.

It came through in a few days when I was in Mexico with limited cell service and DH was camping in the Nevada desert but by some miracle we got it done. I'm not sure it would have happened without me persevering.
