Wow, thanks everybody! BTW, I did check Lands' End again and (hooray!) they will now once again hem their regular rise khakis to 33" !! They don't offer it on all their pants, but hey, beggers can't be choosers.

How about tall prom dresses?

I have 2 teenage daughters that are 6' and 5' 10.5" (and growing). They like Gap for casual pants. Their favorite place for jeans is Hollisters. Their long is really long. I think the oldest wants a 35" for her jeans.

Can anyone recommend a place for prom dresses? I'm getting concerned about that. The oldest is a freshman but I'm going to have to deal with that soon. She bought a dress with an uneven hem for a winter formal but I think she'll get tired of that.

Thanks!

Love their tops, but in the catalog, all the pants seem to have a 30" inseam--still not enough.

Pat, I'd be lucky if I could get my thighs through the waist of any pant they sell at Hollister! Although my 13 year-old twig loves them. What style of prom dresses are you searching for? I see you're in Kentucky, so we probably have different stores. I love the Jessica McClintock line or we have a store called Cache that has gorgeous, though expensive, selections for special occasions.

My daughter is 5'11" and she never had a problem with prom dresses or her wedding gown. It depends on the style since some dresses run longer than others. It was the dates she had trouble finding in taller sizes! :D Her husband is 6'6" though.

Prom dates

LOL! That's why I don't have to worry about the prom this year. The boys aren't tall enough for her yet! My husband's worried that a senior will ask our freshman daughter out but she doesn't have classes with them. We're probably safe for another year!!

If you are looking for something a little more trendy try 'NY & CO'. They carry longs and are very stylish. They can be found in most malls.

I had just bought 5 pair of pants, all long, from Talbots. They all cost $19.00. Normally $68 and $78 but all on sale when they had the 60-70% off sale then an additional 25% off. I have done that often.

Also Dillards had many longs on sale recently.

I have bought many of my pants at outlet centers. I bought Tommy jeans that way, gap jeans and Calvin Kleins.

Some pants, if they are real cheap and cute, I guy and pay $10 or less to have them lengthened. I am 5'10" and it has worked for me on some pants.
