I have nothing but positive and great things to say about this company ! Me and my family were in a really tough situation,due to the current epidemic. The hotel we were staying was no longer an option, We were referred through a family friend who actually rents their timeshare through ROI. We got much more than expected a beautiful two bedroom villa with a lake view. They took care of all of the details and to top it off it was affordable. Me and my family will definitely be using them for all our future travels

Resort Options International charges big fees to place an ad on their poorly designed website. Nothing more. They are similar to Craigslist in that they are simply a platform supposedly connecting buyers with sellers. You claim "They took care of all of the details". Your post isn't believable because it is like saying after a purchase from Craigslist that you were very happy with Craigslist because they took care of all the details.

• Shill #1 original said that she knows they are legit because her daughter worked there. After being called out she later changed that to the fact that she herself used the company's services. She claimed "I have received help with my Summerbay multiple years now.". What makes that laughable is that at that time the website/company had been in existence for less than two years.
• This company shares exact testimonials with another scammer company with the only difference being the name of the company. Scammers who fake testimonials are also known to have shills post fake glowing experiences on the internet.

There is a complaint at the BBB in which the company is using the pandemic as an excuse. They claim that they have been "forced to refund all booked reservations from March 17th through May 31st." This is hogwash because this company doesn't take money for rentals. Their business is to forward offers to the sellers who handle the transaction themselves. From the company's terms and conditions: "Any offers submitted by prospective buyers utilizing Resort Options International’s advertising will be promptly forwarded to the timeshare owner. Upon receipt of an offer, the timeshare owner can choose to handle the transaction on his/her own or retain an independent broker/closing company." Just more lies from this company.

Just an update. I was contacted by ROI last week. I am so grateful to have been a member of TUG and able to read this thread. The sales rep Richard Zachary actually said that TUG is a scam not knowing that I am a member have purchased and sold time shares on here. He mentioned that TUG has a bad review on Tripadvisor and was trying to throw me off track. I'm just glad that I am in the cancellation period and could cancel and get my refund. Many thanks to RX8 for his thorough research and the "same" review samples for various companies.

Glad you found the thread. I remember that scathing TripAdvisor post about TUG from a year ago, as I am sure @TUGBrian does as well since he replied to the post. The fact that this scammer called out that TripAdvisor post is probably because he was the one who posted it. Scammers don’t like it when they get called out.

Edited: to be clear this company is an advertising listing company. They charge an upfront fee only to list over priced timeshares for rent or sale on their website. They move into scam territory by the unsolicited cold calls, lying about having renters lined up and posting fake reviews about themselves.

Ok, I think the TripAdvisor review/rant calling out TUG as a scam is indeed the people behind Resort Options International based on the following circumstantial evidence.

This TUG post was originally from March 2019. They were called out as a scam by many, myself included. The TripAdvisor rant just so happens to also be from March 2019. I was critical of them in that TUG post and the rant called me out personally. Finally, why would Resort Options International bring up TUG on the recent phone call, call TUG out as a scam and then reference the TripAdvisor review as “proof” if they weren’t the ones to post on TripAdvisor?

Vidanta / Mayan Palace has warned owners about these scams via emails and a mailed letter - 4 times in the last 45 days alone.

Is it for the pediatric dental convention in Cancun / Summer 2019 ?
I have received many calls with that pitch .
Why would a corporate client pay you double the MF versus putting together a a
program directly .?

Then tell them you own a Vidanta Mayan Sea Garden contract in Acapulco -
and it is a long daily commute to xxx for their clients .

You signed up for TUG just today to do a save face post for this company? Usually most people once they are out of their timeshare don't talk about it afterwards. They are happy to be out and don't think about it weeks or months later. I have yet to see a situation on these forums where someone asked about a company before signing up for their services, then used them and then came along afterward to say how great they are. We only hear from "questionable" posters who registered the same day come in to talk about about how the company got them out of their timeshare.

Do they get some people out of their timeshares? Sure. But they do the exact same thing the onwer could have done themselves for FREE but instead the owner paid thousands of dollars for the "service".

Just not believable. The company has already proven to have fake reviews on their website so having someone at the company search out a very old thread, pose as a satisfied customer and post a glowing review would be normal course of business for them.

As far as not having any real experience with them - I don’t need to be scammed to know it is a scam.

Anyone that is posting negative things about this company without ever doing business with them directly - SHAME ON YOU. My daughter works at resort options international.. She has told me on more than one occasion that they are often mistaken for RESORT VACATION INTERNATIONAL, which is a company with many dissatisfied owners, according the BBB and other various platforms (ripoffreport.com, scamion.com, complaintboard.com) Based on what is shown from TOP TO BOTTOM of this thread, NONE of these people have done business with this company but are MISLEADING the public that it is not a credible business, or that it is a scam! As a result, not only are we depriving owners that could benefit from this company with these kind of posts, but we are taking opportunities to generate income from the company as well, with no credible merit behind it! The posts that are made in this thread are even made viewable to the public eye WITHOUT being a registered member of TUG, so people that are not even paying for this MISINFORMATION are getting it forcefed to the top of their search results when looking for the company. Integrity in its purest form should always be maintained, ESPECIALLY in a platform as prestigious as TUG. This platform is designed to either INCITE the public of the TRUTH, or stand in a position of wonder, which is totally understandable as to why the initial question was posed. This is a FORUM and understandably so.
