Has anyone had any experience with Resort Options International? Claim to be able to rent your unit or points for you to corporate clients for approximately $2000/week. Of course, they will get you rented for the low, low price (after 30 minutes of haggling) of only $1400, and this will get your unit or points rented for the life of the deed whenever you don't want to use them. They have a pretty website and a decent BBB rating, but I can't find out much else about them.

IF - THEY CONTACTED YOU = IT IS A SCAM
if you own in Mexico / Mayan Palace like I do- 100% guaranteed a scam !!!

Vidanta / Mayan Palace has warned owners about these scams via emails and a mailed letter - 4 times in the last 45 days alone.

Is it for the pediatric dental convention in Cancun / Summer 2019 ?
I have received many calls with that pitch .
Why would a corporate client pay you double the MF versus putting together a a
program directly .?

SCAM - SCAM - SCAM

Next time - ask where the convention is located .

Then tell them you own a Vidanta Mayan Sea Garden contract in Acapulco -
and it is a long daily commute to xxx for their clients .

their rental prices are terribly inflated

Easy to do when the whole $et up is $imply to $teal $$ FROM YOU .

A fee / tax / escrow / foreign transfer fee / whatever - they will ask for a payment - and the disappear with YOUR $$$

This is an advertising listing company. They charge a huge fee and all they do is put your ad on their website where it will sit and sit and sit. Their website may look pretty, and that is to make you think it is an effective site, but all one has to do is try to search for something to see that the money wasn't spent on IT, only the looks. You want to find a nice place in Florida? Nope, can't search that way as the website doesn't let you search by geographical area. Their goal is to extract the upfront fee. Once they have that they have ZERO incentive to do anything else. They could care less if it rents or sells. I looked at the first 12 cheapest rentals they have which are $1800. They averaged 3 views in the last 227 days. Shows you that there is no traffic.

They also lied to you as they are not going to rent anything for you. Their website states:

"Resort Options International does not provide or engage in real estate broker services. Because Resort Options International does not provide real estate services, Resort Options International has itself sold zero (0) timeshare Properties. Additionally, Resort Options International clients have offline rentals generated by offers directly to the owner, Resort Options International is unaware of the exact percentage of offers to rentals. Resort Options International has no knowledge regarding the average success rate of listings to rentals because Resort Options International is not involved in any negotiations relative to the rental, closing or procurement of buyers of timeshare interests. There is no guarantee that any particular timeshare interest can be rented at any particular price or within any particular time. Any offers submitted by prospective buyers utilizing Resort Options International’s advertising will be promptly forwarded to the timeshare owner."

Try this one on for size. Chipotle has 14 BBB reviews, The American Honda Motor Company has 33 BBB reviews and the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company has 12 BBB reviews. Yet this new and relatively unknown company (I've never heard of them) has 47 glowing reviews at the BBB. All I know is that companies who are out to scam people like to post fake reviews. Just saying.

AS others said - An actual real company (I initially missed that)- that wants you to pay $1400 for a listing .
a total waste of money.
They've already asked for one of $1400. But yes, if they get it, they will disappear with the money.
thanks Lanny - I thought it was the straight out cold call - " rent your Mexican TS scam "

Thanks for all the help guys, I figured it was too good to be true, although it would have been nice.

I'm glad you didn't fall for it but what I quoted from you above explains why people still fall for this scam even though it seems too good to be true. They go in it with the attitude "Maybe it is true. I don't want to be kicking myself down the road for passing on this opportunity."

Anyone that is posting negative things about this company without ever doing business with them directly - SHAME ON YOU. My daughter works at resort options international.. She has told me on more than one occasion that they are often mistaken for RESORT VACATION INTERNATIONAL, which is a company with many dissatisfied owners, according the BBB and other various platforms (ripoffreport.com, scamion.com, complaintboard.com) Based on what is shown from TOP TO BOTTOM of this thread, NONE of these people have done business with this company but are MISLEADING the public that it is not a credible business, or that it is a scam! As a result, not only are we depriving owners that could benefit from this company with these kind of posts, but we are taking opportunities to generate income from the company as well, with no credible merit behind it! The posts that are made in this thread are even made viewable to the public eye WITHOUT being a registered member of TUG, so people that are not even paying for this MISINFORMATION are getting it forcefed to the top of their search results when looking for the company. Integrity in its purest form should always be maintained, ESPECIALLY in a platform as prestigious as TUG. This platform is designed to either INCITE the public of the TRUTH, or stand in a position of wonder, which is totally understandable as to why the initial question was posed. This is a FORUM and understandably so. Someone being curious about a company's validity is a far cry from the UGLY word "SCAM" ...and as a timeshare owner, understanding the extremely limited options we have to get relief for acquiring a debt of perpetuity, every integral needle in the timeshare haystack MUST BE PROTECTED. redweek, vrbo, and until valid proof is tendered, ROI. To protect yourself as a user or administrator, please remove the posts that speak of the word scam. Not because there is a clear bias here, but because all of us here at TUG want this to remain a great source to recieve good counsel. Thank you!

Since the post above has been reported 3 times, (and apparently did "incite" several Tuggers) I thought I would address it here:

I'm so grateful that "martinezruth" did an internet search and found this thread from March, so "she" could enlighten us about this prestigious company!

Interesting that "she" refers to herself as "all of us here at TUG" - when she just showed up on Tuesday.

Could "she" possibly be a shill???

I just have to say - this is one of the strangest comments I have ever read on TUG -
This platform is designed to either INCITE the public of the TRUTH, or stand in a position of wonder

Tuggers: Have you been "incited," or are you "standing in a position of wonder"?

That’s a year ago March, and apparently all of us here at TUG so damaged the reputation they went out of business.

Got to love Google street view, we can view the marquee, I wonder if the Available suite is #215?

As I said previously in the post prior, my DAUGHTER works there!! I have seen them work first hand, and as a client who actually PAID them to find/generate offers for me, i have received help with my Summerbay multiple years now. I have told most of my family, who also own timeshares, and many of them have registered as well. The ownership is very friendly and they have great hearts and the staff is very respectful. I will be fair and say that the (specialist, coordinator, etc.) told me I could receive between $1200-$2100 for a week and I only recieved an average of $1,213.59/week after the fees to book the unit, but I can assure you, it is NOT a scam.

Yes, i did just recently join TUG, as I was given the referral from one of my family members that this was a place where timeshare owners could go to get information to help, and just recently found that this thread was even available. I voiced my opinion, and didn't realize it would be met with such a flippant reaction.

And Dave, if you ever wanted to go by and check, maybe even call the leasing office on the bottom of the marquee, their company name is definitely downstairs in the directory, and it is quite a large establishment. If you have someone that actually lives near that location in Florida they can surely go and verify that #215 is definitely occupied (lol). Unless something happened to their building within the last 24 hours, they have a few locations that I am aware of. I was really only looking to deliver a message from someone who actually has dealt with the company.

Also, i meant INVITE to the truth, not INCITE. Thank you for pointing that out Denise. But really though, what is the point in having a forum for all timeshare owners to pay to be a part of if your plan is to ostracize someone just for pointing out the clear defamation against a company that didnt deserve it. I will definitely see if I can direct some owners that have actually paid to register to voice their experiences too, so at least there is some sample size to make an assessment on them being legit.

martinezruth - Do they pay you by the word?

Ohhhhh - You meant to say "invite the public of the truth" - OK, that makes perfect sense!

But I still don't get "stand in a position of wonder."

DO NOT post any more fake testimonials here - you, and your alter-egos will simply be banned from TUG.

Seems to be like theres a personal motivation because of the venom dripping from your post Denise..as a moderator i thought your position was to preside over not to preside with or against..fake testimonial?

Just want it to be known that I PAID RESORT OPTIONS INTERNATIONAL AND HAVE RECEIVED PLENTY OF OFFERS TO RENT MY SUMMERBAY FOR MULTIPLE YEARS NOW. I have certified bank checks and receipts that I have saved, booking reservations, dates, emails, even voicemails. Most importantly, I would like to think ROI reviews are inspired because they know there are so many places that DON'T have the reviews that they have that claim to do the same thing. (i.e. Resort Vacation International) Thank you that is all I want to say :)

I'm going to go way out on a limb, and ask Martinezruth to go back to post #6 by RX8. He tends to be one of the more dedicated and talented internet sleuths on this site. There is no rebuttal to anything he said. Just "It worked for me, and my daughter works there." WOW - "And my whole family uses them."

One of the biggest No-Nos on Tug is to assume that big corporations rent out timeshares for large corporate events. Big corporations rent out hotels for large corporate events. You are trying to say that some big business rented your Summer Bay timeshare so they could have a big gathering? Naaa. Not going to happen. You need to hang out more on Tug to understand why the moderators are such good "shill sniffers."

Well, now we know where all those glowing reviews on the BBB came from.

What we do know for fact is that people up to no good will lie, lie and lie again. They will have shills post on the internet to try to make their scam appear like a legit company. They will also post many fake reviews, again to make them look legit and a company worth taking a chance on. The goal is the upfront fee.

Let's take a look at Resort Options International. They now have 50 glowing reviews at the BBB. Not bad for a company that has been around for a very short time. I shared some other big companies and their BBB reviews in my first post. Here are a couple more. Yamaha Corporation, in business 42 years - 0 reviews; Delta Airlines, in business 90 years - 47 reviews; Anderson Windows, in business 116 years - 16 reviews. How does this little unknown company in business since 2017 have 50 BBB reviews?

At Resort Options International's website (created 9/1/17), they have three reviews:

There is another company with a different name but the website looks exactly the same. Check out Global Resort Options's website (created 6/14/19) and you will find these "reviews" - https://globalresortoptions.com/

Wait, there's more!

Check out Global Getaway Dreams website (created 1/26/18) - https://www.globalgetawaydreams.com/and you will find these "reviews":

Sorry for the thread resurrection. Just went toe to toe with this company on behalf of my mother. Nothing particularly new. Pretended to be the resort until I told them I wanted to do a deed back. Changed their tune and said that they work on behalf of the resort lol. Same as what others posted, give them money up front to "list rentals". Good news is that they are aware of TUG and was quick to point out the shill posts above. My only regret is that they have my mothers number and not mine.

I have nothing but positive and great things to say about this company ! Me and my family were in a really tough situation, due to the current epidemic. The hotel we were staying was no longer an option, We were referred through a family friend who actually rents their timeshare through ROI. We got much more than expected a beautiful two bedroom villa with a lake view. They took care of all of the details and to top it off it was affordable. Me and my family will definitely be using them for all our future travels
