Can you explain what is happening? People are having other brokers access MVC points to rent points and or a reservation at a resort?
What I understand is someone with excess points contacts one of the brokers and the they are offered a flat rate per point. The broker then either has guests already looking for specific reservations or they make speculative reservations to post and list online. The broker makes the necessary reservation. The difference between what they rent the reservations for and the flat fee for the points used is the broker's profit.

@dioxide45 Thanks for the reply. What is the rule related to 20,000 MVC points? Does this mean the person with excess points may be restricted to transferring a max of 20,000 points. Also there is the the 12 question form the owner must fill out and get approval from MVC. In addition there is the MFA issue as well. So there are 3 roadblocks to overcome?

The restriction is on a given account receiving more than 20,000 points in a year, from all transfers combined; an account can transfer more than 20,000 points out, just not more than 20,000 in a year to the same account.

The brokers don't facilitate transfers. They just book the reservations directly under each owner's account. They used to facilitate transfers which led to the 20K rule. As for the guest form, I would expect the broker fills that out as they have access to the owner account.

Has anybody been able to get verified recently? I have around 5,500 Abound points for rental and would prefer to just work directly with MVC owners as opposed to posting rentals on Redweek since I know Marriott kind of frowns upon that. I submitted my information a while back but have yet to hear anything back.

The administrator of VPE has been MIA for quite a while here on TUG. I imagine he's also not paying any attention to VPE so nobody new is able to get verified. I had tried to contact him some months back regarding VPE and never got a response.

Thanks for letting me know. That's an absolute shame. I guess I'll have to find another way to rent these points out.

Just as an update for anyone else waiting to get verified, Steven replied to me earlier today and let me know they have a new verification process available on the site now. So, he's still active but I guess he was working on a new framework for the website. Maybe he's an HTML developer and was working on it himself.

Sorry all. Life events. Passing of my mother in Feb 2025 and then involuntary loss of my job that I loved for the past 14 years in November 2025 took it out of me. There was so much fraud happening at the end of 2024 that I did not have a good way to address and the process I put in place was very burdensome, both on sellers and on myself. Every ad that is posted is manually reviewed by me. Combined with being bombed with a ton of spam, like 200 messages a day, it made the days feel impossible.

So, new refreshed look on the site. Identity verification handled by Stripe Identity so I no longer have to store Driver Licenses. Stripe also collects payment so I no longer have to coordinate that and Stripe uses Biometrics to verify that you are a real person when submitting copies of your DL. Implemented a Verified Seller badge on the site that gets added once verification is complete. And automatic approval of ads by Verified Sellers.

Document upload is handled by the site. I still want to see your Owner Profile information and make sure it matches. While Stripe Identity has a pretty good track record, I want that extra little bit of certainty. And at the very end, a phone or video call to wrap things up. Depending on how Stripe performs, I may be able to do away with the phone or video call.

FAQ's updated on my site along with a new Verification Form to kick off the process.

Thanks for the update, Steven. Sorry for your loss and I hope you were able to land safely somewhere after your job loss. Unfortunately, the job market is nothing short of atrocious right now so getting and keeping a job is extremely difficult right now.

So sorry for your loss of a mom and the additional loss of a job you loved. I can definitely see how 200 inquiries a day would be difficult to manage. Good to see that you are still active on TUG.

Steven; So sorry for the loss of mom and your job. Hopefully you still have your little dog, lol.

So nice to see your post today!

Sorry for your loss, good to hear from you.

Those sound like good changes to the site.

So glad to hear from you. At first I was worried about the worst but found you. Please ignore all the messages and emails, and thanks for what you to for VPE.

We also lost our dog in July last year. She was 15. We think she had a stroke and became paralyzed because she couldn’t walk or eat. We have it about a week and spent 6 days outside with Her before she went to sleep. This picture was her 2 days before we took her to the vet.

So yea, 2025 sucked.

Sorry for your losses and the hard times
Thanks for what you do
Obviously you were missed

Shetland Sheepdog? She looks like my Kirby (see my profile pic), who went to sleep several years ago. 😄

I hope things are looking up for you in 2026 and beyond.

We were told Australian Shepherd when we got her. We didn't know at the time. Not sure but she wasn't Australian. We got her when she was 1 from a family that couldn't handle her. We're guessing something like a German Shephard/Collie Mix. So far 2026 hasn't been too bad. Much better than 2025.

But, I did get an email from Stripe this morning saying I may have violated their Terms of Service and they want more information. Apparently Timeshare Services is a Prohibited Business in their book. So I'll have to wordsmith things and see if I can get recategorized without being shutdown. If they shut me down, that's going to put me in a bind with the Verification program again.

Good to hear from you Steven and sorry for all the troubles. That certainly isn't good about Stripe, though I believe some timeshare rental websites payout with Stripe. Or at least they did at one times. I looked at a few other services and they seem to have similar restrictions. I could understand such a restriction for payment processing due to fraud risks. But for identify verification seems odd.

Didit seems like a good alternative as they have no restrictions when it comes to the timeshare industry.

Would you be able to use id.me for identity verification or would that be too expensive? I have no idea what they would charge.
