After Five Years, Back at Aruba Surf Club

I think the last time I was there was back in 2008-09. Not sure but I could look back in my way back machine. Heck I own a unit there as well. Planning a trip next year in '24.

Thanks for getting me ready.
Funny how I posted this and forgot all about it. Gearing up to go soon. The countdown has begun !

We haven't found that global entry helped much or at all for trips to Aruba, even the TSA recheck has limited value in our experience for Aruba. Still doesn't hurt anything. My wife just had her renewal approved only a year after we submitted it and a full month after it technically expiered (they give an automatic extension it if you apply for a renewal). Enjoy your trip, should be a fun time to go.

We were in Aruba last April and when at the airport there were 7 immigration stations and only 3 stations open to process hundreds of people departing Aruba…it took almost an hour standing in a line to be processed..very few people were going to the global entry area and my wife said we needed Global Entry..it took both of us 8 weeks to get an interview.Very happy we have GE this time

For us it's never been an issue but it'll depend on how busy it is. We've had times when we went to the GE stations and people who didn't were through faster. But it doesn't hurt to have the option and the price difference between GE & TSA precheck is minimal.

We departed Aruba on a Friday afternoon..not sure if that had anything to do with it.

We found GE to be useful in Aruba. The line for regular US immigration was pretty long, we were second in line in GE. Where it doesn't matter as much is TSA Pre. Everyone goes through Aruba security then again through TSA security inspection. It is just a single line through the TSA check and really no Pre check option that I remember.

We travel high season to Aruba. GE saves 60+ minutes on the line. There is never more than 2-3 people on that line. Can be 50-100+ on tbd regular line.

I also found Global entry to be very helpful in Aruba! The regular US Customs line was super long and the GE line was like two people. We were through in less than 5 minutes! Doesn’t help with the other 3 long lines you go through- but definitely helped save time with one!!
