Congratulations! It's a good thing that you bought it before BG started exercising ROFR on purchases through Pinnacle 2 months ago.
That’s amazing. And I don’t mean that in a good way.

Maybe that’s why the last time I went to a sales presentation and told them about my purchase they pretty much let me go and didn’t keep me….they know the secondary market days are numbered?

I am considering purchasing Bluegreen resale points. Is it possible to exchange the points with II. Also, I think the points are with a specific resort. I know that points can be used at all bluegreen resorts, but, are resale points the same? Are they limited to the resort that they were purchased at? Anyone familiar with bluegreen ? I would appreciate your help?

Welcome! You are in the right place. BTW, you can buy 20,000 resale points in the Marketplace her on TUG for about $500. Timesshare are what you make of them. I own Hilton, Hyatt, Worldmark and Holiday Inn CV and am very happy with them. I don't know much about Bluegreen. My suggestion is to take some time, read up on TUG and make sure its right for you. If you decide yes, then you need to decide which brand you want and if you want weeks or points. Then I strongly suggest you buy Resale and make sure you use a trusted closing company like LT Transfers.

Maintenance fees will run you about $1000-1700 per year for a 2 BR unit. The important thing to know is MFs are based on size rather than season and point values are based on both size and season. So you can get a bad season 2 BR and get 3500 points or a prime season 2 BR for 11000 points for the same MFs. Both can be had on the resale market for just a few percent of what the developer charges. If you are not concerned with luxury, but just want a clean suite in a great location, take a look at Worldmark. Its simple to use and has some of the lowest MFs out there. If you want luxury, then check Hilton, Hyatt or Marriott.
Fast forward to present - do you have a brand you favor over others? Looking to buy my first resale and I’m wavering on which brand … and seems a lot of changes in last year

OneOldGuy75, do you currently own any timeshares in any system?
A not-unreasonable way to 'explore' a particular company's timeshare system is to be paid to sit through one of their sales presentations, always saying "I don't see the value proposition in our situation, particularly with perpetual ownership", until (probably just before you are out of time and almost out of the office) they offer you a sampler package.
it may be called something else, but it gives you some number of points to use within their system at some (probably not all) of their resorts, for a fixed period of time (2-3 years), for a fixed sum of money.
There is NO OWNERSHIP or PERPETUAL MAINTENANCE FEE OBLIGATION with a 'sampler' package.
It may not include all "full owner" club privileges, or it may have restrictions on when you can make reservations.
Be sure to ask your salesman about ALL the differences between a "sampler user" and "full owner" in terms of club usage.
You use it where you can, and when the points are gone, if you like the system, you can then take that experience and do your resale shopping.
Or, if you are not sufficiently impressed, you can walk away with no obligations after the "sampler" package expires.

May you have good fortune in your explorations!
