Yellowstone is on the list. My daughter thought Yosemite should be as well.
Yellowstone is the best national park imo. Not that I’ve been to all of them, but it really is incredible. We were there 8 days and could have stayed another week easily.

I’m sure it’s nice to see, but I really don’t anticipate ever going back to NYC again anyway. Just not a big draw for me.
My husband lived in Manhattan before he moved to California and we got married. He took me there at some point and on that first trip I was overwhelmed. It was like sensory overload. We took both of our daughters a few years later and I LOVED it! He and I have been going back every October since we retired.

I worked there one summer during college. For some odd reason I haven't been back since then.

I had enough of NYC for my lifetime! Was there a lot, as well as the boroughs. I’m done! lol!

There are several places I feel like that about. Florida and Texas, I've been too more than I'd like. Done.....except my bff moved to Florida and I really should go visit her. Las Vegas is another. Been there enough times and don't feel he need to go back.

Yeah- this year I forced myself to visit my brother and aunt/uncke/ cousin in Fla. for a few days but I’m done.

Vegas- ugh. Was there three days as part of our honeymoon ( I was 21) - fun and done.

Oh- and when we went to Zion we flew into and back out of Vegas in 2019. Went straight to the hotel. Never went to the strip. Not my thing.

Four of those are the very definition of "hype."

I can't believe Big Sur, the Overseas Highway, Yosemite and the Black Hills lost out to them. Bryce, Moab, Devil's Tower, Denali, Sequoias, Hill Country, and on and on and on....

You're right about that, these type of posts are ripe for disagreement (which actually may be the point of the post).

Anyone can make lists.

"Is this where I come for an argument?" ... 😄

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I want to give a Gold star to everyone who goes to WDW (lmao x 100) & Hollywood (lmao x 10,000) instead of crowding into Big Sur and Yosemite. Much appreciated. Big Sur: over-rated. Stay away. Just a bunch of rocks + salt water. Yosemite: over-rated. Stay away. Just a bunch of rocks + fresh water, perhaps frozen. And you may get eaten by a bear. How's that for touristing?

and if you go to Hollywood, by all means, focus on the urban blight.

"Overseas Highway" ... I didn't know that name for it, but that was another one that came to mind.

And two gold stars for Las Vegas (lmao x ∞)

This is also why Yelp restaurant reviews are never to be trusted.

Every damned day, some tourist on social media asks for the best restaurant in my area. And every damned day, most people trip over each other to name what I consider the worst restaurant on the island. The food there is APPALLING. The menu is insulting. And the prices are egregious. But they have a great location and they get people drunk on fruity cocktails. So they're the most popular place.

PS -- You don't have to worry about people crowding into the actual nice areas. These places require effort.

Right. I forgot to mention. Jes cant get theah from heah. I have lived not far south of Big Sur. I have lived not far north of Big Sur. Either way: "Are we there yet?"
Oh, due to PCH being closed, I once drove from the East to Big Sur, past the military base and over the mountains. Even worse.
And if you're West of Big Sur, enjoy your swim.

Everybody may as well try to get to Crater Lake ... but don't do that.

Seen some, not others. No big deal to me what I saw or what I didn’t. Lots of other places were better and some were worse. My favorite is home with the family and for someplace away, London.

OK - for me Las Vegas was a one-and-done thing (with a side trip to Hoover Dam) but I understand it's now more of a concert destination with gambling ... or "gaming"

Since I work at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios, I am biased. Most people know it is expensive, but no one said they regret paying! A couple weeks ago, I overheard a mother and her kids in my bus talking about WDW, the kid (probably around 10) asked if they could do something, she said "I spent $4000 to come here, I have $400 in the bank, so the answer is no!"
