HGV Website -- antiquated system

I'm a former IT professional and sold Saas and hardware for years. I find the HGV website so antiquated and difficult to search properties and availability. Anyone have tips or tricks they use? Starting a search by region and using two getting two sidebars to navigate is difficult. The map page with the "pins" of each property and then having to look at each one is so kludgy. Am I missing something? Anyone have an interaction with HGV where they have committed updates?

LOL. Try using RCI. The entire industry is a hoot when it comes to IT and esp customer-facing IT.
otoh, you fell for the gotya of using HGV in a "HGVC" post, making it unclear if there is some Diamond commentary in your post.
Am I missing something?
The TS industry overall seems to have trailing edge, far trailing edge, IT
interaction with HGV where they have committed updates?
Huh? What does that mean? That is harder to understand than the state of HGVC's IT is.

You own in HVC so I am moving your thread to that forum.

I don't have DRI, pure HGVC, but what you are describing is not the HGVC reservation system, we don't see a map with pins.

I suspect that Hilton just put a HVC front end on the old DRI system when they integrated. If you owned DRI before does the new reservation system look the same as the old DRI system?

We converted are traditional ownership with Diamond to HGV so all of our points are under the HGV Max website.
HGV is the parent company of HVC (formerly HVC), HGVC, bHC, DEX, Embarc (whatever that club is called). HGV Max is nothing more than an exchange program with the other clubs. The club that you are in is still the same, THEClub (HVC/formerly DRI). HGV did add a frontend to integrate the login into the various clubs. HGV has made it sound like there is one club but it isn't. HGV has especially made it very confusing which I think is part of the plan.

I hope that helps explain but certainly doesn't answer your OP.

I have access to THEClub's website (I think) because one of my HGVC properties is allowed to exchange in DEX system. That site also looks like it has two website versions, Unified Website and Classic Website. I can only use the DEX part of the website and I will agree that looks antiquated. It is also extremely flaky. But I don't see the map with pins. I personally just search for a specific property like I do on the HGVC side. This is an assumption on my part, but I suspect that THEClub website hasn't changed much since HGV purchased DRI (the HGVC website hasn't changed). Hopefully, HVC/DRI members will be able to give you advice.

I'm a deeded DRI owner now HVC and yes, the starting page looks like a frontend intergration for all Hilton so you can sign in for getting to DEX. The Club & Owners (formerly Diamond Resorts) is one of the pull down sign in choices. From there, you can make searches and make reservations, although I pay the extra $10 and call to make the reservation (found out the hard way when I was double charged using their site). You can also use that site to check made reservations, maintenance fees, etc. It is clunky but useable once you play around with it. I never saw the OP's pins page(?). When I search, I type in a destination and there is a scroll down with the resorts you can try for available units.

The pin screen happens when you select destinations:

Then when you select Map it looks like this. Totally ugly and I now search using find a vacation.

I get the next page after selecting Hilton Grand Vacations, then I use the pulldown for The Club & Owners(formally DRI).

Correct. You are in THEClub (HVC/DRI) and we are in club (HGVC). We can also get to the pins but it looks different (learned something new). I never use that before and really don't see the usefulness.

How do you get to Destination on HGVC, I don't see it (not in Max)

We are both on the top level club domain but I can see in LA Woman URL it's /trust-destinations (HVC).

Since you are HGVC, it is only available to those HGVC owners who have enrolled their Craigendarroch Lodges units in DEX (I am not in Max either). So when I log into club.hiltongrandvacations.com, I must select between HGVC and Craig Lodges. If I select Craig Lodges, this gets me into DEX system which I believe is the same as the old Diamond website. Of course, if I select HGVC, then I get the regular HGVC website. I can also switch between the two completely different websites. So to me, HGV hasn't integrated HGVC and HVC/DRI websites. They have just put a front end on it and allow users to switch between them.

The integration of the former DRI member sites may be starting small. The Embarc Members website is "sunsetting" on Feb 25.

Maybe this is the start? Maybe we are all in for some IT fun in the coming months? Who Knows?

Oh boy. Nice, it looks like we will be debugging the website for HGV IT again. Hopefully, this only affects Embarc members (@cd5)

Can Embarc members already use the HGVC website and they are just discontinuing the Embarc? If so, than there shouldn't an issue. If they are just integrating them now, this will be a mess. .

Yes, that is exactly what is happening, we've had access to both for quite a while. But - we've been having all kinds of problems for months - both on the new and the legacy site.

Sorry. It sounds like neither purchase has not been beneficial for Intrawest/Embarc owners. Hopefully once your website settles down, you all can just use your ownership like you bought it for.

Interesting. I logged in with a different browser to club.hiltongrandvacations.com all my information is there and it basically looks like theclub.hiltongrandvacations.com. Both have the destination link which I will avoid. Both have the find a vacation link.
