Has anyone ever had any dealings with RMIPG - Resort Marketing International Property Group (RMIPG.com), good or bad?

Yes, and it is a continuing bad experience. I hope that you haven't committed any money to them. They are frauds.

Rmi Property Group

We signed up with them Dec 28, 2009. Joe Strong, the owner called us to assure us they will list our property until it sells. Being so ready to get out of our Wyndham by WorldMark we checked them with BBB, they passed. So they have our money and yes they are listing our property on their site but we have not been called by any interested parties. They also have a Rewards Program that is a snail way to retrieve your money. You pay $12.95 to get into the program. You either purchase $150 worth of groceries or gas per month, send the receipts with their certificate to arrive at their office by the 7th of each month. You will receive a $25.00 prepaid Visa card. The certificate has the address on it to mail this to. We did this successfully for 2 months, then this month our envelop was return NO SUCH ADDRESS. The certificate plainly shows address to be 650 N E F Street, Grants Pass, OR 97526. When I called about the address, customer service Jackie said we mailed to the wrong address it should be 560 instead of 650. Now they have taken us out of the Rewards Program and are not returning any of my phone calls. I can not file fraud because they are listing our property. Why are there so many con artists out there. I would entertain any advise.

If I were you I would file a complaint with the BBB and State Attorney's Genreal office. I have already done so. They have totally lied and misrepresented their service to me.

Hey there Fallgrenz
I see you are online, and hope you can read this reply to the current thread about RMIPG
My sister has Bluegreen property and was contacted by someone claiming he had a buyer for her, and convinced her to pay him to post it for sale.
This company is real, but they scam people out of money to place their timeshare to sell, even though they likely cannot sell it for them and certainly not for the price they quote.

Rmi Property Group

I have filed with the Oregon Consumer Affairs and with Texas Sec of State. I found out today that they went out of business in Texas Jan 1, 2010...we signed up Dec 29, 2009. I am not a happy camper.

Has anyone talked to Joe Strong the owner? He called us in Jan to thank us for signing with them and they will do a good job for us.

I called the city office in Grants Pass OR to see if anyone knew anything about them. The odd thing, the lady I talked with was Julie Strong (no relation) but she went the extra step to have someone go to both locations 560 and 650 NE F Street to find no business there. It was suggested to file small claim also but I can not do that since I live in Texas.

Were you in the Rewards Card Program also?

Thanks for this data. I will not go down on this easy. I also have an issue with THE OWNERS ADVOCATE doing the same to me. They got $1100. I have had sucker on my forehead 2 times but no more.

Two lessons: (1) Don't buy a timeshare (2) don't hope that someone will do it for you.

Rmipg

Keep me posted on your progress with possibly prosecuting these people for fraud. The more people being scammed that we learn about the more likely a class action lawsuit can be successful. I will also keep any new developments posted here.

Not sure those are the right lessons. Anyways, if you own Worldmark, you can still get some decent money for it. Nothing like developers prices, but still in the 1000's of dollars as compared to most Timeshares that sell for $1. So, cheer up and start looking at selling it here on TUG.

Are you talking about RPMI out of Arkansas? Jeff and Angel are great. I just want to make sure you aren't typing those letters in the wrong order. RPMI is Resort Property Marketing International, and I have purchased several timeshares through them. They have offices very near Fairfield Bay in AK and sell Wyndham and Worldmark points/ credits. I recommend them highly. I cannot say enough good things about them. They have lots of listings currently on ebay.

I just realized this was from a month ago. Doubtful that the OP will come back. The recent posts on this are really odd.

They keep referring to owner Joe Strong, so I do not think they are talking about RPMI.

No, this is Resort Marketing International Property Group. They are out of Texas,Oregon,Nevada and Wyoming - or so they say on their web home page. They seem to be anything but an honest broker. There is also a company located in the UK named Resort Marketing International that is legitimate broker for hotels etc.

Wow, it's tough for the legitimate companies to look legit, with scam companies that name their companies so similarly. :( Maybe this is purposefully named for a company people know and trust.

Maybe Delva should change the name of her company!

sedona pines

Thanks for understanding. I will update on this site. If we hear of them filing bankruptcy we might be able to get a little back also.

We do have Worldmark. We are not able to use Worldmark because we only road trip in Aug and the areas we are going could not get housing in one of their resorts. For what we pay, I do not want to select for their substitutes (RCI). Why pay out of pocket....

I am glad that you have had good luck. I hope mine will change soon. Glad you got on the site and was able to see we are talking about another company.

Rmi Pg

If RMI PG is listed in Oregon, do you have to live in Oregon in order to file a small claims against them? If you live in Texas, why can you not file a small claims against them in your state?

Sedona Pines

Sedona Pines, that is exactly how they got me. They called me, solicited my timeshare, saying that they had a buyer that wanted my property for $39,000 and that all I needed to do was sign the contract and the deal would be closed. Of course it was all a lie. I filed a complaint with the BBB. The BBB sent me a reply from the company and I sent a reply to there reply. I also filed a complaint with the Las Vegas Attorney General's office, Dept of consumer affair. I would suggest that everybody file with both he BBB and Attorney General office. This is the company's web address:http://rmipg.com/
Anybody want my e-mail address or phone number so that I can share more specifics let me know. This scam has got to be stopped and if we all file complaints than I think we may have a chance to get our money back.

I said earlier that I file with Las Vegas AG office and BBB. I'm looking at my paper work and it is the Texas AG office and BBB. When you get on the BBB web site they will ask for the business name and zip code. This is the info I provided to both the Tx Attorney General's office and the BBB. RMI Property Gp. 900 Pecan St. #300-272, Pflugerville Tx., 78660

BTW, Michigan, you can file a complaint with the AG's office in either your home state or the State of the Company but the BBB complaint has to be at the BBB that serve the location where the company is located.

Sorry dudes...once that check cashes...

It pains me to see the raw emotion over TS sales. It doesn't have to be hard...but it is. then again, the old saying...if it looks too good to be true...

Commissioned sales only or do it yourself via ebay. And the resale market just doesn't support good sales right now. Best you can hope for is paying a small fee in the form of closing and/or transfer to walk away.

What does anyone think about this?

This week I have received 2 phone messages from people wanting to help me sell my timeshare. I have not talked to either one of them in detail. However, I think what I am going to do is wait until they tell me how much it is going to cost me in advance, and then tell them that I would prefer to do it with the fees being paid out of the money that I get when they sell it for me. If they are like all the rest of them I have ever talked to, they will tell me it is illegal. At that point I will ask them to tell me where the law is that says it is illegal so I can read it myself. (There's a law library not far from where I live.) If they don't, or can't, or won't, I am thinking of filing a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau for attempted fraud and misrepresentation of telling me that when it is (apparently) not true (since they can't tell me where the law is). Of course when I talk to them the first thing I am going to get is their name and address so I can know who to file the complaint against.

I don't really expect anything to come from doing this, except maybe it will start putting more heat on them. I would really like to see some of them start getting thrown in jail for some of these scams, but I don't know what it would take for that to happen.

Anybody got any thoughts about this? Comments welcome.

ANY company that 1) contacts you and 2) wants a large upfront fee, is a scammer - period.

RMI PG - aka Joe Strong

I do not live in either Oregon or Texas. I called my local District Court and they said since RMI PG called my home, that is where the offense took place and that I can file a small claim against them. I do not have to file in either Texas or Oregon. I hope this helps and I hope more people do the same and sue them in small claims court.
