Hi, we recently purchased a timeshare at Club Solaris Cabos and are now experiencing buyers remorse. Does anyone own there, and if you do, are you satisfied with your membership? Please help!

You are experiencing buyers remorse because you probably paid a healthy amount for your new timeshare, if you are within your contractual rescission period you might want to think about it. If you are not, you need to learn how to make the best use of it.

club solaris cabos

Hi, we recently purchased a unit at Club Solaris Cabos and are now having buyers remorse! Does anybody own at this or another Solaris resort, and how do you like it? Does it work well when you trade with RCI? We own week #25 which is a medium week. Thanks-

Thanks - we actually did cancel within our 5 day period, but they are saying they do not have to refund our money! We're now just trying to decide whether to avoid all the hassle and keep it or get ready for a huge battle! We have contacted Profeco and followed all the steps that we were told, but they are still resisting giving us a credit!

IF you cancelled within the 5 day period, they MUST refund all your money. DON'T let them hoodwink you!!

They will give you a credit!!

If they don't give you the credit in a timely manner report this to the mexican gov. agency which oversees TS "Profeco" link to profeco FAQ OH, I now see that you have already contacted Profeco. Don't worry they will give you your money back.

PS since this is about buy a TS I'm moving this to the buying board.

sounds like they are just jerking you around so you end up "wanting" to keep it.

Stick to your guns, don't let them weasel back into your wallet.

We actually sent a cancellation notice within the 5 days, but they still say they do not have to give us our money back. We also contacted Profeco, but now are wondering if it is worth the fight to get it back. My gut feeling says it is. Thanks -

Thanks for your help. Guess we will just continue the fight! Last time we talked they actually said they would accept our cancellation but they have up to 10 years to give us our money back - we paid in full on credit card(not a good idea!)

I'd notify the credit card company that you have recinded legally, so long as you followed exact directions within the time allowed, and want them to assist you getting a full credit to your account asap.

We purchased a studio through them about 7 years ago at the Club Solaris Cancun. We never had buyers remorse because we don't have to pay the maintenance fee if we're not using the unit. We've used it a few times. We did pay developer's price but at first got some terrific exchanges such as a 2 bedroom at Morritt's Grand (Cayman's), a one bedroom at Playa Linda (Aruba) and a one bedroom at Windjammer Landing (St. Lucia). However since then the trade power dimished substantially so we don't give RCI our week anymore. They also lied to us and told us that we could go to Cabo or their new resort in Cancun. Then they changed their mind. We did go to Cabo and on a special promotion to members to get them to listen to their timeshare pitch there. We did not think it was a good deal. In fact we convinced someone who had just bought to go right back in and cancel while we were there. A couple of times they were parading around with prospective members and the salesman stopped and asked us to tell the people how much we liked the timeshare because we had member's bracelets on. We were the wrong people to ask. While we did not verbally lash out at the resort, we firmly told the people that it was a nice place but be sure to get everything they were promised in writing. We wouldn't buy there again unless we planned on only using there and not trading. That is not the way we travel so low trading power is not good for us. However, since it's not costing us more than our initial payment (which wasn't much back then), we're o.k. with owning there. If we had to pay maintenance feels we'd have dumped it a long time ago.

Cabo timeshare

Thank you so much for the input. That really helps, because we are like you and want to use it more to trade, and it sounds like that is not good. We are going to continue the fight to get our money back. Some say that since we did it within the five days and followed all the steps, we should get it back, but it may take a while - live and learn! We paid a LOT for this, so really don't feel like it would be worth the money now!

Good luck in your fight to get your money back. I hope you win. Timesharing is a wonderful thing but if you want to trade, buy someplace with good trading power. That resort is certainly not it.

I believe you did a great thing by paying in full with your credit card. Call them and dispute the charges. You have all the information you need to supply the credit card company and they will withhold payment to Club Solaris.

With that being said, we very much liked the Royal Solaris in Cabo and plan to visit the ones in Cancun as well, but you would definitely only want to own if you want to use their resorts, not for trading.
